Topic: Great news!
Hi, guys! I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I am a patient of Dr. Bour's.  I had attended all of the support groups and had my appointment with Dr. Bour set for April 16th.  Because of some pretty serious family issues I was forced to cancel the program and was opting to re-enroll this coming January. My great news is that I was able to jump back on the wagon with Bariatric Solutions and have an appointment with Dr. Bour August 9th.  Lacey helped me with all of the issues and I was able to basically skip the enrollment process and I don't have to attend anymore support sessions, even though I want too and feel that it would be beneficial to my success.  She said I can continue coming to them, but they were not necessary. I am so happy with this.  Without getting into a lot of detail, I've had a pretty tough time with my son lately and since I've been here last, I sold my home of 17 years...this has taken a serious tole on my emotions and I've been so heart broken over it.  I put it on the market, and it was only listed for 6 weeks before it sold.  I guess I should be thankful it sold quickly with the housing market the way it is right now, but I guess I didn't expect it to sell so fast and I didn't have time to prepare to "let go".  Does that make sense? Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm back for now and hopefully nothing will get in the way this time around.  It's time I did something for me...I need a break in life. Take care! Wanda

Topic: RE: Protein-3 weeks out -Help!!
hey there, I was having some issue too with that at first.  But let me tell you I have to admit I eat alot of the same stuff every day.  Carnation good start sugar free I think is 10 g of protein and then when you add the milk thats an extra 8 grams and you can even add a teaspoon of peanut butter to that for another 8 grams. Thats 26 grams right there. I drink that everyday so at least I have some down. I also go to bilo in goose creek and buy the flavored tuna in a packed and add a teaspoon of mayo to it, that has lots of protein.  refried beans with cheese ..thats another double.  OH...carrabas in North Charleston has a soup there called MAMA's chicken something. Its real good its 5 bucks for a bowl but , when you I get it to go it last me three days, there bowls are real big.

At 11 days out, you should still be on a liquid diet.  That's one reason you're experiencing problems.  It doesn't sound like you've been properly prepared for the changes you needed to make or the gradual progression of foods taht you can eat.  Your stomach at 11 days is not ready for mashed potaotes.  At 11 days, I was still on full liquids (pudding, yogurt). Then 2 weeks on pureed foods.  You're rushing things.  Yes, be patient.  If your doctor doesn't have a dietician on staff that you can call, find one.  If he does, call the dietician. A word of warning: that pain under your rib cage could be your gall bladder.  Have it checked.

Topic: 8 weeks out
I know I haven't been posting for a while.  Tomorrow will be 8 weeks out.  I have been at very slow rate for weight loss.  I am down 44 lbs.  But the last 3 or 4 weeks I haven't really lost.  I was told I would hit this spot.  Now that I am back to work, I am moving around more.  My scar is healing.  It is still sore, but I know it takes time.  As for my back, well lets say it is geting there.  Much better than before.  With all the stuff happening in the last 8 weeks, I haven't really did any exercising.  I know that may be one reason for the slow weight loss.  So it looks like that will be part of my everyday life now.  I am just going to start out walking.  I am going to check the gym out that is in our community.  It is like 35.00 a year.  So that way I can start seeing the loss again.  I will try to keep it more updated.
