The group was great last night. Sorry you guys had to miss it. I got to sit in with the those who already had surgery instead sitting through the class. It was nice to talk with them one on one. It's kind of weird to think that the next time I go to group I'll be in Post-op.

Hey everyone in Charleston, Well I think I finally made it over my problems.  The last scope I had done, they did find an ulcer and balloned me open.  But I am not having any more pain in my chest and I am able to eat and drink.  I had salad for the 1st time since before my surgery.  I am still waking up with the vomit taste in my mouth.  Not sure how to handle that.  Also I have a ache now in my kidneys and side.  Anyway, I HAVE LOST 46 POUNDS.    Hope to see everyone at the next meeting at Pizza Inn.

Angela,
I live in Greenville area, but I had surgery by dr. Bour.  We have support groups there, but from what I undersand, it is for people who are on their program, that cost 2K fee.  (we all had to pay). So I am not sure if and how you could attend (probably not).
I heard that there is a monthly support group in Spartanburg, but not sure.  Look at the post "upstate" and contact the person who post it.  She was also looking for a support group.
Good luck.

I’ve been lurking around here for about 3 months, so I figured it was time to chime in. I live in the Greenville area, but am having surgery in Columbia andI finally got a surgery date for August 7, only 2 two more weeks. I’ve done a lot of research in the past, but still feel unprepared so I will gladly accept any pre-op or post-op advice given. I also would like to be able to participate in a local support group. So if you know of one, I’d love to get more info.

I would like to have the hours, not sure how often I could attend, but it would be closer for me.
