It must have been a horrible experience.   We all need to hear that.  I think that image will stay with me for a while.  That will help me pass the dessert isle, and pass on any desserts that my friends have.

I think is not only our body after WLS, but also long term low sugar, low fat diet, that change how our body reacts to the today’s poison of the world: sugar and fat.

Beside all of us having WLS, after the surgery, at the beginning we do not eat any, or have very little sugar.  I am not sure if I dum*****t, but I think that if I have high concentration of sugar + fat, after a 3+ months of not having any, even without WLS, I would have got sick.

As a matter of fact, one time, long before WLS, I went on a super healthy, with some fasting, diet for 6 months.  I lost a lot of weight.  Then one day I had cookies, Oreo, just 5 of them.  I was so sick.  With the cramps, feeling horrible for 2 days.   I think is not only our body after WLS, but also long term low sugar, low fat diet, that change how our body reacts to the today’s poison of the world: sugar and fat.   I do not want to imagine how would I feel now, after WLS.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

better yet, don't think you do dump on sugar so you think you can't dump on it.  Boy have I got a story for you.  I am one of those post ops that can get away with some sugar so I decided to pu**** with dangerous results.  My post should serve as a warning, don't let this happen to you.

First off, Julie I am sending you so much Love right now.  I remember that pain too well of loosing my first born, my 16 year old lab named Dixie, the kids still talk about her.

Hey Jen, it is good to hear from you.  Yea, we all have got so busy with life.  I hardly even get on the board anymore.  I hardly stop and check my email.

I am a married old woman now.  I got married June the 14th.    Life has been so good.  We bought a new house.  Over twice the size of my baby house.  Now I spend my time cleaning.

I hope we can all get together soon.  Maybe we shoud put together another Myrtle Beach bash.  Maybe the end of summer when the peak prices go down.

You are right, we ae so focused with the lose of weight and the support of each other in the beginning. Because we see results, then real life kicks in. The support drops away, stressors pick back up, we dont get the positive reinforcements we did at first, we go back to some old habits...and boom..it becomes a struggle again.
The mind is a powerful thing and it is hard to change many years of habits when we still dont get the early positive effects.

Thanks to all of you who posted. Boy, did I need that. I don't, post hardly at all, but I find that now I am desperate for support. It  not only is a daily struggle,  but sometimes a minute to minute struggle. I have to say, this is the hardest thing that I have ever done. It is not a fast fix, it's not at all what I thought it would be. Ron, like you, I thought life would be happier and some how easier than it was being fat. Like someone else said, they still feel like the fat girl. How do we get past that? How can we look in a mirror and see what others see?  Now I still see the same girl, just with alot more sags and bags. I went to Dr 's support meetings for a while and found them to be the same one after another, I just didn't find much support there. I should go again and try harder. It is nice to know that others are having the same struggles as me. Thanks for the kick in the butt!

Topic: Susann's sister
Hello all

This is going to be a very sad post.

As you may have heard or seen in the news, a woman was found dead in the lavatory of a Delta Airlines flight from LA to Atlanta yesterday.  That woman was Susann's sister, Mikey.

Susann's family was converging on Jacksonville, Florida for the wedding of her nephew.  The wedding will still take place on Saturday but then the surviving sisters have to plan a funeral.  The funeral will be in Jacksonville and then they will take Mikey home to be buried in California.  Her last name was Carnahan.

When I know more about the arrnagements, I will post again.

Please keep Susann and her family in your prayers at this very difficult time for them.
