Topic: Anyone with Aetna Insurance in SC

I am in need of any kind of help with an appeal letter to my insurance company. I did research before beginning the process as well as after having inital blood work stuff done that the procedure can be approved if for medical reasons. I have referrals from 4 doctors including my GYN, who states that if I get the procedure it will help in not hving to have major pelvic surgery. It will also keep me from having to have another medical procedure done to put a band on my esphogus due to hyital hernia and severe acid reflux.

Hey Kala!
I also live in Goose Creek.  Yes, Dr. B is a great man!  I am 4 mths out.  I have lost almost 70lbs.  I am still healing from my surgery.  Mine ended up being open after doing most as lap.  I am joining the Goose Creek Comm gym.  I like that it is only 35.00  a year.  But I just wanted to welcome you to here!!

Hair loss is normal when you lose weight fast and there isn't much you can do about it. It will grow back in ,but it might take a while for that to happen. I got more than my required amount of protein everyday, took biotin, which made me itch all over for some reason, and  I still use the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Nothing really made much of a difference so I am just waiting it out and seeing if it will come back in. I am almost two years out and even though I didn't lose alot of hair, mine is still on the thin side. Of course my age might play a part in it too, since hair thins out as you get older. Just  hang in there and make sure you  take your vitamins everyday get in the protein and add the extra biotin, it can't hurt, unless it makes you itch like it did me. I like the Nioxin shampoo even if it doesn't seem to make much of a difference to my hair.
Hugs!

Hopefully for you they will cover the lapband. I have had a wonderful experience with the RNY and would do it again a million times over if I had to. I have had no problems with it  and I am enjoying my life again, it's amazing how much better you feel losing the weight and all the things you can do that would have been impossible before the surgery. Just realize that everyones experience is different, just as it is with any other surgery. Yes, you will hear horror stories as well as wonderful ones, but that comes with any surgery no matter what is being done, believe me, I work in the hospital and have seen even the most common surgeries have problems, so don't go by what you hear and let it affect your decision, just do what you feel is right for you.
Good luck and take care. Keep us informed on how everything goes.

Hugs!
Mary

for 2 lbs of beef I add 1 cup flax meal.  You can add less.  But the fiber and the good fat - makes me go... and it is healthy.  My friend told me to do that.

And oatmeal has more fiber and good carbs.  So - I have meal in one.   I also add veggies.
Total: in 4 oz of meatloaf I calculate that I have 20 gr protein, 8 carbs and 8 gr fat, 3 gr fiber .
Not so bad. I usually add some onion and spices.

I had mine long - when they start falling out - I cut it short.  Looks better (actually it really does) and since they are shorter - there is less pull on them, so less is falling out.

Also I take biotin, use Niexum shampoo, and make sure I have 80-100 gr protein a day.

Hey, on Monday I also made meatloaf in the muffin form.  Funny.
FYI I add oatmeal and flax meal to mine,
