What flavor it is? How big bottle it is?

I am planning to be at the meeting tonight.  If I can try it, and can get it down, I would pay you for that.  (some days I just can not get enough protein, so small qty may be what I need).

Let me know

Thanks, Melissa!

I sure hope it gets better because it's what it is until October 14th.  I think the hardest thing for me will be the coffee.  I am a serious coffee fanatic.  I called Cammy this morning and asked her if I could use 1 Mini-Moo (half & half) in decaf with sweetener and the Mini-Moo serve as my 1 fat serving for the day...she said NOOOOOOO.  I was so bummed.  She did say I could use a little 1% milk in it, but I have never used regular milk in coffee before.  My old boss (who passed away 2001) would always make coffee before I got to the office and he made it very strong.  I would have to load it down with sugar and creamer just to drink it.  I worked for the man for 16 years and I just got used to his way and now that's the way I do it...strong.  My poor hubby has to cut his with water just to drink it.

Anyway, I rambling on.  I had thought about the boxed Optifast, though.  I'm planning a trip to NC to go gem mining this weekend, so I was going to buy some and keep them in a cooler, since I'll have no access to electricity.  They are just so expensive and I'm very tight with money (blows my hubby's mind).

Take care and thanks for the advise!

I found that the ready-made Optifast was easier for me to drink because I couldn't smell it.  It is in those little cartons, so you can just stick a straw in it and you can't smell it.  It's the same problem after surgery with the protein.  If I can smell it, I can't drink it.  The diet gets easier after the first few days.  It's probably just "head hunger" you're feeling, but just remember it's only a few weeks and it is sooooo worth it to get to the end result.  Good luck to you.  Melissa

Yes, I started the Optifast diet this morning.  All I can say is....YUCK!  I don't know what it is about it, but it really turns my stomach.  It does not taste that bad, but something about the smell just does not sit well with me.

I started at 6am this morning and I have had 2 dill pickle spears and one jello...not to mention several ounces of water.  I'm really not hungry, but I'm thinking about eating.  Does it get better after a few days where you don't think about it and the slight hunger pains go away?

How did you guys cope?

Take care!

Topic: Anyone in the Greenville/Greer area need any clothes?

Hi everyone! I have not been around for quite some time. I am 16 months out and have SO MANY clothes that I can no longer wear YIPPEE!!  I have clothes for all seasons from 3X to 18-20 and some 16's. I even have a new 3X bathing suit!

If you are interested in some of these clothes send me a PM and we can see where we can meet. It has been a while since I have been to Dr. Bour's meetings but bringing them there is an option.

Hugs,
Karen

I'm ASSUMING that the insurance follows the same guidelines for all of the Michelin plants, so hopefully you will not have a problem.  I'll keep my toes crossed (I need my fingers for work, lol).

I have decided to go with the RNY because I have read soooo many things and posts where the band has a lot of problems...not with the band itself, but rather with slippage and the like.  Also, I've read where the weight loss is much slower and that in the long run, most folks regain their weight plus some.  I figure with the RNY and if I behave myself, it would be the best choice for me.  I only have roughly 95 pounds to loose.  My goal weight is 105, because I have a very small bone frame and I'm only 4' 11".  MY biggest problems are with borderline diabetes, high blood pressure, reflux and GURD.  I have only been over weight for about 10 years.  I was very small in my youth.  My graduation weight was 92 pounds.  I weighed 105 pounds 2 weeks after giving birth to my son...20 years ago next week.

I realized last fall when my foot broke just because of my weight (a stress fracture), that it was time and I have no will power over eating.  Well, I take that back...I do to a point, but when I know that I HAVE TO DO IT...that will make all the difference for me.  Knowing that if I don't behave, I'll suffer seriously...that's all it will take.

I stay on my feet and am almost always working so my weight really wears me out.  I swear sometimes I can hear my poor bones say, "To Hell With This", when I get out of bed in the morning, lol.

Anyway, take care and please let me know how it's going.

Oh...thank you so much for your info.  A huge weight has been lifted, I just hope it goes as smoothly for me.  My husband works at the Michelin plant in Ardmore, OK... We live in Madill, which is about 30 miles away.  If you don't mind sharing with me why have you decided to go with the RNY??

At the moment I am waiting for my test results to be sent to my insurance company, so hopefully I will know something soon.

Best of luck to you!  Thanks again!

Marcy
