Yes you can have the chicken and tomato flavors of optifast 800, I would drink a fruit or vanilla for breakfast and then for lunch I would do a soup. I did alot of the soup actually because I love salty things and the sweet flavors just got old to me.

I saw the Chicken flavor, but I assumed it was for the post-op patients.  Can it be a substitution for one of the shakes?  That would be great...a little flavor during the day.

I came very close to buying the Muscle Milk Lite at Costco, but was afraid that it wouldn't do the job.  I have to lose 8-9 pounds before Oct. 14th, so I should be ok.

Any other thoughts on the Muscle Milk?

Thanks again!

Bring it in just in case.  If i try it (in a bit of water, i know if I can handle that. Who knows. If not me, some other people might get it off your hands.

I personally loved the chicken soup flavor! For the first few days though the optifast really made my stomach hurt but it went away. I think I blogged about it in the April blog. As for the head hunger that never went away for me! I always craved stuff and wanted to eat bad things but I wanted the surgery more so I did what I was supposed to do and the optifast does work thats one good thing about it but it is expensive!

Yes it is very strong. I have a friend that holds her nose to take it and she can take it straight I just can't though. I bet that if you drink coffee that it could be mixed with that and it would mellow the flavor of it. I just find it to be bitter. I wanted to be completly honest with you, it tastes really bad but if you can handle it, it would be a fast way to get in your protein.

OK. I trust you. How about with some water or ice? Is it that strong?

I am going tonight too, its a 30 oz. bottle Butter Pecan flavor I have only used 2 oz. of it and I paid $30.00 for it. You can mix it with other things I suppose I just can't tolerate it and I would not recommend drinking it by itself.

As a alternative, you get get the Muscle milk light.  They sell that in Costco for app $25 for 24 containers (pre mixed).  The good thing about them, is that you can drink that on phase 2 liquid and beyond after the surgery. Costco only has the chocolate light. (I like it even now), but it has milk, so if you become lactose intolerant - though luck.
