Topic: Pre-Op Support Group Role Model
Yesterday, my Sis was the pre-op role model. I thought she did great. I was there to support her not to speak. I was answering a question for someone and Lacey told me to stand up. I wasn't there to steal her thunder. I just felt like if I can help someone with what I've been through, then help. That's what support groups are about. To help you learn and see that you are not alone in this journey. You have people that will help. I was so proud of my SIS yesterday. She has accomplished alot in her journey. I'm just glad she has done so well. She deserves a big round of applause . Great Job Sis.   Love Ya, Teresa

Thank you Wanda. I really was there for support for Barbara. Then when someone ask a question and I was answering her, Lacy told me to stand up. I was glad to help out. I feel like this, if I can help someone I will gladly do it. It's like this Pay it Forward. You may be able to pass along some info to someone else one day. You never know. I'm glad you feel more at ease. We will be waiting for you on the Loser's Bench. Teresa M.

thank you Wanda,    I hope I helped someone.   I was worried that I didn't have enough stuff to say,  but then after starting I didn't know when to stop  ....I am so excited how my life is now.  I hope every one's journey is as good as mine has been.  I wish you would have let me know it was you.  I have been reading your post on here.  Lacy wants me to do a Info Session with Dr Bour.  I told her I would let her know.     Me and Teresa had a good time doing it today.   Again thanks for your kind words.... Barbara  (me with my happy dance)

Go for it.  And enjoy it. You will have a rough few days ahead of you, after surgery, so go...have fun...

Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I posted, and I hope the Greenville folks still look here! A group of us are going to Chief's about 7:00 and would like to invite whomever would like to go out.

I had the opportunity to see Barbara K. & Teresa M. at a pre-op support group this morning at Dr. Bour's office.  Both Barbara & Teresa were featured speakers for  Post-Op Patient Role Model support.  I have to say that I came away from there with such a positive feeling about my decision and a sort of peace.  They both look soooo amazing.  They look so healthy and happy.  That Barabara is a hoot and full of life.  I hope I'm half as happy as they are when I'm where they are  now.

My hat's off to these beautiful ladies for their accomplishments...they deserve to be acknowledged.

You know...this sounds terrible, but I actually thought about cheating once more this Friday and enjoy some Mexican.  I just don't want anything lurking around in my intestines that would frame me...you know what I mean?  What do you guys think?  Should I be ok to eat Mexican on Friday if surgery is the next Tuesday?

Any advise (encouragement)  will be great!

LOL! Don't feel too guilty about it, I think most of us cheated at least once during the pre-op phase. I did great the whole 4 weeks but the Friday and Saturday before my surgery, I treated myself to my favorite meal(s)of BBQ and Mexican. It was also my granddaughter and husbands birthdays' so I also had some cake and icecream that weekend.  LIke you, I knew that I wouldn't be able to enjoy those foods for a long time or maybe even never again, so I splurged but  I found out real fast that my stomach had shrunk up and I couldn't eat much food at all.
If that is the only time you cheated then pat yourself on the back and finally, get yourself back on track without worrying about it, you will do fine.

Hugs!
Mary

I was on Optifast on my birthday and I spent the entire day cheating :( I even had more than one piece of birthday cake. I know that sounds horrible but I think that we all cheat some on the diet.
