Topic: Hey guys!
Just wanted to let everyone know that my surgery was this past Tuesday (Oct 14th).  I was released on Thursday afternoon.  The surgery went very well and there seemed to be no problems until this morning.  I got up at 6am and began drinking my Isopure.  It was the Blue Raspberry.  Around 10 am or so, I changed the dressing around my drain and it was the same color blue as the Isopure.  I immediately began freaking out...obviously...and called the doctor.  Dr. Bour's assistant, Dr. Scott called me back.  He told me to go ahead and prepare to go back to Hillcrest where they could run some more tests.  The entire time I was balling my eyes out and I'm sure he had a hard time understanding me.  Anyway, I rushed around, packed a small bag and was about to get into the shower when he called back and said he had spoken with Dr. Bour and that SOMETIMES, it was normal for a little drainage to occur and not to get upset.  He told me to add the food coloring to the rest of the bottle to make it super blue and watch it until this evening.  If it was still happening to call back.

I sure don't want them to have to go back in.  I didn't have a hard time, but just the thoughts of having to do it again...ya'll know what I mean.  The surgery wasn't as painful as I thought it would be.  I had trouble laying flat in the bed, so I had to sleep in the chair part of the first night and all of the second night, but other than that, it wasn't so bad.  I didn't have any nausea or anything.

I am having a very rought time getting down the proteins, though.  I just can't do it.  I'm going to have to call Cammy tomorrow and see what else I can do, because there is no way.  I can hardly get through the bottle of Isopure, much less anything else.  Did anyone else have this problem...if so, what do you guys do to "fix" it.  I was wondering if Cammy would let me drink the Muscle Milk Lite instead?  I had no problems with them durig the diet phase and I actually liked them.  I wonder if they can be added back during Liquid Phase 2?  I'll begin that this Thursday.  I just don't want to get so weak and dehydrated, and I'm already weak.  Emotionally, I had a rough day of it yesterday and wondered if I made the right decision.  I guess everyone feels that way.  I'm also hungry...does that sound crazy.  I fixed my son some dinner last night and smelling it made me hungry.  Has anyone every really paid attention to just how many food commercials there are on the tube...LOL!

I want to thank all of you wonderful, wonderful folks that have been with me through this journey so far.  Ya'll are my new family...a bunch of losers...LOL , AND i WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!!!!!

Love

Sorry to be responding so late! I just was poking around in the South Carolina forum here and saw your post.  I too live south of Savannah and had my RNY surgery in South Carolina, with Dr. *****ett in Columbia.  Though the driving back and forth was rough, he was worth every mile behind that wheel.  I'm now 3.5 months out and about 80 lbs down.  Hope your banding surgery went well! Are you a military spouse from Hunter or Stewart by chance?

Not sure if we will be able to make it or not. I'm probably working that night. If not I will surely try.
