I assume most hospitals are all the same, but where I work, you can walk in as long as you have your order with you, no appointment is necessary.

Can I just go up to the hospital and go to the lab or do I have to make an appointment? I am terrified of getting it done because I pass out everytime and it feels like I am going to die before it happens but I really need to get them done tomorrow for my 6 week check up.

Topic: 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Well, yesterday was my 2 year WLS anniversary. Everything is still going great and I let everyone know that this was the best decision I have ever made in my life, with no regrets at all. I went from 247.8 pounds and a size 22 pants and 2 x top to 154.0 and a size 10 pants and medium top. I have never reached Dr. Bours goal of 145 but he seems happy at the weight I am at for my age, (57). I have gained 2 pounds but also had my thyroid go out of wack and he had to increase my meds from .125 mg to .137 mg and now I am on .175 mg. My thyroid was reading 10.8 and should be less than half that. So hopefully I will get back to normal soon and get that couple of pounds back off.
Anyone that is considering WLS just keep in mind that everyones experience is different and you can not go into this surgery thinking everything will be great for you. As with any surgery, there can be problems and not everyone has the ideal surgery, but also know that most everything is temporary and most problems occur in the begining right after surgery. The protein becomes easier to tolerate and foods eventually start tasting better. It does get harder with some things the further out you get, and you might find those old habits and cravings starting to creep back. I just keep reminding myself that no food is worth looking and feeling like I did before surgery and I try to always make better food choices for myself than I did in the past. It's not easy by any means and it takes a lot of work but the results are well worth it all.
Good luck to all the newbees just starting out and to all you old timers who have already "been there, done that". I hope each of you have great success!
HUGS!
