State of SC EXCLUDES bariatric surgery at this time. They are doing a study which should be completed sometime in 2014. At that time, they may or may not choose to offer WLS. It is all about the $$$.
Has anyone here done self pay at Palmetto Baptist? If so, were you happy with the care? What was the total cost of everything?
Does anyone know what the outcome was of the State of SC doing a study to determine if they are going to add WLS to employees insurance benefts?
I am fairly new to the lapband journey. I have me with my surgeron and he agrees that I am a good canidate I just need to wait for approval from insurance. This is where things get fuzzy. I am covered under my husband's insurance, which is blue cross blue shield. We live in Georgia, but his company is based out of Jacksonville, Florida, so our insurance card states BCBS of Florida. When I was doing all of my preliminary reserach I did all of it based on BCBS Fl which has just dropped their 6 month wait. This would mean that since I meet all other requirements I would be ready to submit my claim to insurance, but when the financial dept. at my surgeon's office spoke to my insurance company they said that technically I am under BCBS or South Carolina (who of course still require 6 month diet)! Has anyone come into this problem before. I am confused about South Carolina coverage and any help would be appreciated. Also when I looked into South Carolina's coverage their policy on bariatric surgery was up for review in Oct 2012, does this mean they could make changes to the policy to drop the 6 month diet? This is what Florida did recently. They review their policy and on Sept 12 dropped the diet restriction.

You dont have do anything different, just browse to the forums like you normally would. This means that you can finally put these away:
Not Just for Mobile
The interface on your desktop browser has also been cleaned up a great deal. There is now less clutter on the page, and the overall experience is a lot cleaner. Check out some more screenshots here!
You will notice that each post no longer has 400 buttons below it. Only the buttons that are relevant to each post show up, making your screen space a lot less cluttered. Also, when you reply to another person's post, the entire post is indented inside, making it a lot easier to figure out who has replied to whom.
Launching soon! Maybe as early as next week! Maybe.
And do remember that this is not in any way a be-all-end-all when it comes to the forums. We are in the process of constantly learning and improving upon what we have, and this is just one step along the way.

My husband and I both had Gastric bypass and have had issues keeping motivated. I've lost 160+ and he las lost about 180ish I think.
