Check out my new pictures on my albums. They are all recent. I have stopped losing weight but feel I need to lose at least 30 more. How do I jump start the weight loss. How many calories should I be eating? I feel like this is new to me again..Jennifer

Topic: RE: REPOST--Need PCP in the Upstate (Greenville)
Generally if you are having issues with your gastric bypass or even questions about dos and donts those are good questions for your surgeon. I do however have a PCP that I think is the best doctor that I have ever been to. He is kind, caring and understanding and most important of all to me is he never makes me feel stupid for feeling a certain way and he is not an arrogant bully. Sorry for such a long post but I have had some bad experiences with doctors. Anyway his name is Dr. Wallace and he is part of Milestone Family Medicine off of Haywood Rd. in Greenville. I believe you have to have a patient referral to be seen unless they have opened up, if you need a referral though pm me maybe I could help you out.

Topic: REPOST--Need PCP in the Upstate (Greenville)

Ok, it’s obvious that I don’t post here often because my previous post didn’t show up. Anyway… I am looking for a Primary care Physician in the Greenville/Easley area who is knowledgeable of the after care for Gastric Bypass Patients. I am not having any problems but would like to become established with a physician who knows the dos and don’ts of the RNY before I "need" one.

Thanks!!

Hi,
Calm down, you will do just fine.
answering some of your questions:
1. water - do call and ask the nut, they do not mind, really.  I do not remember, but I think we needed to drink 64 oz of water. No teas (except herbal), no coffee (except 1-2 cups decaff).
2. You MUST drink 5 drinks + small dinner.  It is important to load on protein and vitamins before surgery - you will heal faster.
3. everyone loses differently on the preop diet.  anything from 1-6 lbs a week,  very individual results.  As long as you follow the diet plan - you will lose as much as it is requierd of you.
PM me if you want more info.

Now that I have a date and have started the Optifast, I find myself on the verge of a panic attack.  I started attending the meetings in Greenville in April, but the summer found me elsewhere and now the time is growing closer.  I can't seem to find all my notes from April (nutritionist).  Am I supposed to drink 48 oz of water with the Optifast or not?  Do I have to drink a total of 5 drinks and eat one dinner or can I drink less.  I find it difficult some days to drink all 5 Optifast drinks.  How much weight did you guys with Dr. Bour lose on the Optifast each week.  Any advice?

Click on the link above and this will give you some more information. the cost that I quoted eariler was just a ball park guess.

So check this out and see what you think. I'm really hoping that we get a few more people. Because the more the cheaper it will be.

Thanks,
Jeannie
