Topic: I'm officially on the "Loser Bench"
Or rather my mom is. This is her daughter, Angelina. We arrived at the hospital at 9:30 a.m. after being called and asked if we can come an hour earlier than originally scheduled. (They were an hour ahead of schedule) Mom signed in, she was given a number, then she was wisked away to the pre-op room. Thad- her husband- and I sat in the waiting room for an hour (I think) and then we were called to where she was. She was prayed over by our pastor who visited and we stayed there for about 2 hours until she was rolled down to surgery. They started at 1:30 pm. The surgery took about 2 1/2 hours, then she had 1 hour in the recovery room. And now ever since 5:10 pm she's been in her room. About an hour afterwards she said she was in a bit of pain- 7 on a 10 point scale. Now she says it's a 3 or so. She's been sleeping and is smiling and talkative now. They told her she can't walk yet though and that she was the first one to ask to walk the day of surgery. They also said she's really the only one feeling like she is.

I'll update more tomorrow.

YES, EVERYDAY, AND THE CRAVINGS CHANGE  FROM ONE THING TO ANOTHER, THE SURGERY DOES NOT FIX YOUR HEAD HUNGER.

I JUST WANT TO WISH YOU THE  BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY. WITH THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE YOU HAVE NOW, YOU WILL DO GREAT IF YOU CARRY THAT ATTITUDE WITH YOU THROUGH YOUR JOURNEY. GOD KNOWS IT IS NOT THE EASIEST ROAD TO TAKE FOR LOSING WEIGHT BUT AS WE ALL KNOW  YOYO DIETING AND GETTING DEPRESSED OVER OUR WEIGHT ISSUES IS NOT AN EASY ROAD EITHER. I WOULD TAKE THIS SAME ROAD A MILLION TIMES OVER IF I HAD TO AND I THINK MOST PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SURGERY WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING. TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME AND WHEN YOU HAVE THAT MOMENT WHERE YOU SAY TO YOURSELF "WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF" JUST KNOW THAT IT GETS BETTER EVERYDAY AND THE PROGRESS YOU WILL MAKE EVERYDAY WILL AMAZE YOU. NO, IT'S NOT EASY, BUT IT IS WELL WORTH EVERY SECOND OF DISCOMFORT AND THE  MIXED FEELINGS AS TO WEITHER YOU DID THE RIGHT THING OR NOT.
GOD BLESS YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY TO A NEW YOU!

I'm almost three months post op, and I am having a hard time recently.  I know what I can and can't eat, and how much, but my brain is screaming for chocolate milk and fried chicken!  Did anyone else have a hard time with cravings post op?

Topic: Finally got approved and I have a date
w00t! I was beginning to give up. I had thought that I was already approved, but I wasn't. I had pretty much given up hope, but Angie at Dr. Ross' office called this morning and said I was approved and we went ahead and scheduled everything. I go see Dr. Ross again tomorrow at 1, then Monday I get to go to the class and preop. Then finally I have the surgery on the 10th. I'm a little nervous and anxious about the surgery, coz I've heard the first month afterwards is just about hell, but I'm soooooo looking forward to not being fat anymore.

I went to the 1pm meeting.  Dr. Calhoun is always right on topic too, just what I need to hear when I need to hear it.

And thanks Teresa for the recipes :)
