UNDER 200
I weighed this morning at work and I am down to 196 which is a total of 54 lbs since surgery. I know I should be jumping up and down but im to tired to do so. We have had a bad couple of weeks with the husband's father and then my little dog had to be taken to the emergency room in charleston Friday night. I hope I soon start feeling better. My father inlaw is home, but is a handful. We think and pray he is going to make a full recovery, but the the other patients that went into ICU the same time he did for the same problem arent expected to make it. We have been blessed and I pray for those families to have the strength to get through this tough time. I still dont know when I will get back to one of the meetings but ill keep up with the board and if anyone knows of something extra I can take for energy please let me know.
MOST PEOPLE TAKE 500 - 1,000 mcg A DAY ... NICK TAKES 2,500 & I TAKE 5,000 mcg A DAY. TRY INCREASING YOUR SUBLINGUAL or LIQUID B-12, or GET THE SHOTS ... DON'T TAKE THE PILLS YOU SWALLOW CUZ YOU ONLY ABSORB ABOUT 5% OF THE NUTRIENTS THAT WAY.
I GET 2,500 mcg REXAL BRAND AT WAL*MART & TAKE ONE IN THE AM & ONE IN THE PM. IT'S VERY INEXPENSIVE.
TRI-VITA (INFOMERCIAL ON TV) B-12 IS FANTASTIC BUT PRICEY. THEY ADD EXTRA NUTRIENTS TO THEIR FORMULA & THEY WORK FANTASTICALLY. IF I COULD AFFORD THEM, BOTH NICK & I WOULD STILL BE ON THEM.
ALSO, CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT VITAMINS/MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS YOU TAKE, BUT IF YOU ARE TAKING "REGULAR" ONES, CHANGE TO A BRAND THAT IS SPECIALLY-FORMULATED FOR GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS SO YOU CAN ABSORB THEM BETTER ... OPTISOURCE CHEWABLES FROM WALGREENS, VISTA VITAMINS w/ CHELATED MINERALS (online), or BRIATRIC ADVANTAGE CHEWABLES (BECKY JOLLY TAKES THESE) ... IT WILL TAKE 3 - 4 WEEKS TO FEEL A DIFFERENCE, BUT YOU DEFINITELY WILL FEEL A DIFFERENCE, MS CRYSTAL.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY ON FLINTSTONES ... THEY ARE FORMULATED FOR A 40 # CHILD, NOT FOR AN ADULT GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT.
Welcome to Onderland!! I am sure that you are emotionally and physically drained with all you've been through with your father-in-law and now with your dog. I was wiped out after my dad spent 2 weeks in the hospital and I was so sad for the people who were still there with there families when we left. It is also normal for some people to have periods of exhaustion during their weight loss. I know that both Dawn and I have battled with it. My doctor told me that though this surgery was the best thing I could have done for my health, that it is still a tremendous insult to the body. My blood tests were good and I was doing all the right things, and I still could hardly get up off the couch, let alone exercise. In fact, I am going through a patch of fatigue right now. It seems to come and go. So, the best thing you can do is to stick with the program and to be gentle with yourself. Don't try to push yourself and don't feel guilty about that. Listen to your body telling you that it needs to rest and pamper yourself as much as you can. Slip in a nap whenever possible. Make sure to get your protein, liquids, and supplements. We've had some warm days and dehydration can make you tired. We're in this for the long haul and our bodies need to make some rest stops along the way. Try not to be discouraged. You'll feel better soon.
You're doing great, Girl! Let this little guy do the jumping up and down for you!
It seems like lots of the Buddies have been so busy lately and our attendance has been off. I couldn't make a few meetings and I miss everybody so much. At least this board lets us keep in touch.
I'm sending you big hugs and prayers for more energy. Hope to see you soon.
Love, B

WOW Crystal, 54 lbs. in 2-1/2 months, that is ONDERFUL....I'm jealous of the onderland, but have a ways to go yet!
Glad your father in law is home and hope you have some help with him. Take it easy and make sure you get your rest!
How is your little dog? Hopefully better.
You have had a lot on your plate, so no wonder you are tired! Make sure you make some time to take care of yourself and come back to LCBB when you can, we have missed you!

Thanks everyone for the support. My little dog seems to be doing good. She had something wrong with her colin and she was pouring blood through her butt. But we got that taken care of with medicine. Now we are going to have to take her to our local vet for surgery to fix a hernia on her lower belly. The vet in charleston is worried that an organ might slip thru and twist, if so she could die.
