1 month appointment

I went to my 1 month appointment today...though actually it has been 5 weeks. Dr. Bour told me that I am ahead of the curve on my weight loss right now and that as of today I NO LONGER WOULD QUALIFY FOR SURGERY!!!! My BMI is around 34 now. He also gave me my goal weight. 134. 134!!! I haven't weighed anywhere near 134 since I was a bulimic sophomore in high school. I won't even know how to act at that weight! Its also my hubby's 40th birthday! I'm going to get him a cake and I'm not even upset that I won't be having a peice! Just to think, it is exactly 1 year to the day since I ruined my Atkins diet by having a peice of his birthday cake. I'm not even tempted today. I guess the fear of getting sick will do that to you. Life is good! Kathy

WELL, IF THAT ISN'T JUST THE BEST NEWS YET! GOOD FOR YOU, MS KATHY ... 1 MONTH & LOOK AT THE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT ... WOULDN'T EVEN QUALIFY FOR SURGERY ANY MORE! THAT IS JUST TOO MY BMI HAS DROPPED 13.9 POINTS FROM 51.2 DOWN TO 37.3. I'VE GONE FROM SUPER MORBIDLY OBESE (GEEZ, THAT SOUNDS GROSS) TO EXTREMELY OBESE TO JUST PLAIN "OBESE" ... CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO "OVERWEIGHT"! IT TOOK ME JUST 18 WEEKS TO GET UNDER 40.0 BMI, WHICH IS THE NORMAL CUT OFF FOR APPROVAL FOR GASTRIC BYPASS. YOU'LL BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH POWER YOU WILL HAVE OVER FOOD NOW. IT IS SO WONDERFUL NOT TO BE CONTROLLED BY FOOD ANY MORE. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK & GOOD DECISIONS, MS KATHY!!!

Ms. Dawn, You have done sooo wonderfully - you are really an inspiration to so many on this board. Probably alot more than you realize! Getting your BMI from 51.2 to 37.3 is a HUGE accomplishment! I would just be struttin my stuff all over the place. You look fabulous! Kathy

Tonya, Want to come to bikiniland with me and Melissa? and as far as the cake goes, I made the mistake of lifting the top and boy does it smell good!!!! Good thing I bought a mini cake - which is teeny tiny- so there is only enough for hubby and my daughter. Then there will be NO leftovers to hang around and tempt me! Kathy
