HELP! Temptations....
Okay, so here I am 12 days post-op, and dealing with the purees. On Sat. I went along with my family to go strawberry picking, and afterward the kids were hungry, so my mom says stop at McDonald's and I'll buy them some lunch.
I stayed in the car while they went in, popped open my Glucerna, took one sip- GROSS! I can't tolerate the canned drinks- far too thick and syrupy for me. So I toss that in the trash. Pull out my applesauce and I was wallowing in the sweet, cool refreshment it provided, and in comes the family with the smell of french fries wafting through the car.
Last night we had my parents over for a cookout. I had prepared my strawberry soup and my cucumber soup, both of which I LOVE, so I was all set. I had no desire to even look at a burger or hot dog or potato salad or any of that. And in walks my Mom and Dad with a big bag of Lays potato chips.
So, can someone please give me advice on how to deal with the temptations? My hubby stops at Krispy Kreme EVERY Sunday morning on his way home from work and brings home TWO DOZEN donuts.
Now, I have tried to plea with my family for some support and compassion. But I am married to a junk-food junkie who is the same weight he was when I met him 22 years ago. He does not think he should have to give up the foods he enjoys just because my metabolism is not like Speedy Gonzalez, as is his.
HELP!?!?!
Christine
