No one really knows why but your body compensates somehow and the pouch stretches out. KB >>> "Dawn & Nick" 04/23/06 11:47PM >>> FROM A POST ON THE SC BOARD ... BRITTY DIDN'T SAY THAT ABOUT THE 18 MONTHS ... DR BYRNE SAID IT IN HIS SEMINAR & SHE JUST RELAYED THE INFO TO ME. HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT OUR BODIES FIGURING OUT WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING TO THEM AT ABOUT 18 MONTHS ... BUT HE DIDN'T SAY WHAT THAT MEANT ... LIKE, DOES OUR WEIGHT LOSS STOP OR GET HARDER? ... IS IT EASIER TO GAIN WEIGHT? ... WHAT? I NEED TO E-MAIL HIM & ASK FOR CLARIFICATION. THANKS DR B ... GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICK

Dr Byrne's answer gave me a little refocus ... If I have about a year left before my pouch loses most of its effectiveness, then I feel I need to make the effort to exercise & lose as much as I can now. So, exercise it is.

yep!!! I am taping Denise Austin in the morning and I am signed up for water aerobics starting in May...hope it helps my back! I will be swimming! I am still losing THANK YOU JESUS!! I am down to 181 this morning, and was 184 last week. I got hungry the past few days, but I am now doing 2 protein shakes/yogurt shakes per day and being strict on my carbs, and I saw a difference. I am just personally going to "REBUKE" in Jesus' name, the 18 month "rule" or typical reaction from our bodies. I am declaring and decreeing right now that I am going to be one of those people who has to work to NOT lose anymore weight!!! Yeah! That is my new mantra, I am never going to worry about any timeline, cause my body will always lose weight!!!!! There it is...so it is written, so it is done....haha (But really!) I can have anything I ask for in Jesus' name, so I declare all that in Jesus' name, and now I can not worry about this anymore!! Hope that helps ya! Love ya!! Deb PS, I am drinking lots more now too

Dr Byrne's info about the 18-month time frame didn't worry me; it actually will keep me focused ... It's very easy to back off this for a while & just skate along, so this will keep me more consistent. So glad to hear that you are still losing weight! You're only 8 months out so you have a good 10-month window & with a little exercise, you should continue to do great & hit goal in no time! It's hard to change one's mindset of focusing on every bite & pound, but when you finally make peace with this process ... It does get easier & a lot more fun even when facing slower weight loss. It's one wise decision after another & when we slip up, then getting right back on the horse. It's like it is sooooo easy that it is hard, if you know what I mean. I finally found the "easy" part is mine (making wise decisions & sticking to them) while the hard part is waiting for my body to respond & since I can't force my body to do that, I'm just focusing on my part of the process. There is a prayer at the beginning of my profile about knowing the difference between things we can do something about & those things we have no control over. Take a peak at it Ms Deb.
