I love this post, Ms Tonya; hope you keep doing it ... I try to post to everyone's surgery page, but it is so easy to miss someone ... This really helps to remind us who is starting their new, healthy lives! Thanks for the effort!!!!!!!!!!!

hi Linda The goal of the bowel prep is to prepare your bowel so that stool will not be present that could compromise your scheduled surgery. The instructions include how to change your diet and what medications are necessary to insure that your bowel is clean at the time of your surgery

As bad as I'm dreading the bowel prep, I know it's for my own good. Any suggestions on improving the taste? I don't think I can stomach drinking it straight up. renee Winter Haven, Fl

I bought a brand that was lemon flavored and if I recall correction with carbination. It wasn't too bad. I didn't drink it straight up but pretty fast. It definetly worked great. Don't leave the home after you take it as some times you barely make it to the bathroom. Get some vaseline or other bum cream as you will need it. Becareful what you eat a few days and the day of the prep.

I had to take fleet's phasphasoda in 2 doses, 1 at 2pm ane 1 at 7pm Anyway, I had read on the main board that someone had mixed it with sugar free sprite and I did thatl At least it went down OK

I'll try the sprite or 7-UP. I just hope I don't implode before the surgery. : - ) My biggest fear is having diarrhea on the OR table. I hope I'm all done before my surgery.
