Had Psyc. Eval. Today

Hi All, Ok, I just had my Phyc. Eval. today. He faxed my eval. to Norma at Dr. Ross' office before I ever left. Dr. Brown wished me good luck and said Norma would get the eval. first thing in the morning. He thought she taught a class on Tuesday afternoons. Norma told me when I seen her on Friday last wk. that as soon as she got his report she would call and make my appt. with Dr. Ross. Does anyone know what happens next. I don't have to be per-certified for the surgery. Done been told they'd pay. Now what? Is there still alot to go through or what? P.S. I need an angel. Need local support groups. Any around here. Hi Libby, i just wanted to say congatulations on getting this far. I hope that things go quickly for you. Does your doctor have presurgery meetings that he requires you to attend? My doctor does, and I have met many wonderful and supportive people at the group. You will also have all of your questions answered at those meetings. I wish I could help, but I don't know your doctor. Keep us posted on everything! Melissa

Hey LIbby, WOW that is awesome!!!!! I too am a patient of DR.Ross, but I just started the process, I have my first appt. with Norma on the 19th!! I can't wait!!! Can you tell me what happens after that? Is Dr. Brown someone they use? LIBBY CAN YOu believe WE are GOING TO WLS!!!!!! SORRY, I just got excited! lol Many of Dr. Ross's patients are on the board, all which are awesome, If you don't get no answers soon we can track um down and I know they will be glad to answer all of your questions!!! Hey Libby, I would like to volunteer to be your angel!! !!!! (seems only right, since I live in Boiling Springs, too!!!) After you see Dr. Ross, Angie (from Dr. Ross's office) will send all your stuff off to the insurance to get the official approval (mine was right before Christmas and only took a day for them to approve it). Then Angie will call you back with your surgery date. You will see Dr. Ross one more time before surgery. He always (well, usually always) does surgery on Mondays and you go home on Thursday. And they will schedule your pre-op (generally just blood work and ekg) on the Monday before surgery, and also on that Monday, you will have a pre-op class with Norma. Soooooo....you could realistically be having surgery within the next 3-4 weeks!!!! Please let me know what I can do to help you. I had my surgery on January 30 and am down about 53 pounds.....feeling GREAT!!!!! Hugs, Dianne

Hi All, Thanks for the replies. Nora, Dr. Steve Brown is the one they use for your the Psyc. Eval., He was wonderful. He made me feel like I was a person. He also knows alot about Dr. Ross. The one thing I have learned so far is that Dr. Brown and Dr. Ross are both good Christian men. If I'm going under the knife, I'm glad it's under a good Christian man that's close to God. Dr. Ross is into helping people like us because he cares. Don't really know what I do from here except to wait. But once I see Dr. Ross I'm sure I'llknow all the rest. I'll let you know, ok Nora. Melissa, I'm not sore yet about the meets, but I think you do have to go to some before surgery. Let you know as soon as I see him. Now as for getting this far, nope , Never thought I'd see this day, but now that it's here I have butterflies. Thanks Guy's,
