HERE'S AN UPDATE E-MAIL FROM MS DEB ... SHE HAD A ROUGH TIME BUT IS HOME NOW. Hey Support Buddies, I am home, they let me go home last night. I don't even remember being put to sleep, but I remember going into the OR, and scooting on the table, then that is it. I woke up and it was the weirdest feeling. I felt like I was peeing all over the bed, well I WAS!!! They left a stint in to keep things open and from swelling, and I asked the nurse was it supposed to be that way and like free-flowing? She said she did not know, so she thought it was my mind, well, it wasn't. She called the Doctor, and he said to put a foley catheter in and to blow it up to push the stint back in, well that was major painful. Then my husband who had already gone to get the car, was waiting downstairs, and then they had to get an XRAY to see if the stint was in place, well, it was not, so they had to pull it out!! CAN YOU SAY PAIN???? Well, then the doctor called to speak with me on the phone, and he said the pain would be like I had another stone, the swelling would make it hard to pee now, and he was right. It has been horrible. I had to call him in the middle of the night to see if I could take more pian meds as I was just in desperate pain. I am a little better today, but not too much. The doctor and the nurse in the PACU said that I had 3 stones, but the doctor told my husband when he went in, the stones were gone, but there was a lot of debris. So, whoever is right, who cares, its done and over. I have to go back in 2 weeks for an IVP to see if there are more stones in my kidneys that have not popped out yet. So, I am at least home on the mends and on the road to recovery! Amen!! They all said and Dr. Byrne, that the RNY did not cause the kidney stones or make us more suseptable to them, but that I was pre-disposed to them, so don't freak so bad. The urine tests did show a lot of calcium and calcium oxolates in my blood tests too, which is what produces stones...nuts, grapes, calcium, protein, and that is what we all eat a lot of, so stands to reason. Well, I know I will be there next Thursday now, so take care everyone, and THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!! Deb

Thanks for letting us know Dawn. I have been thinking about her since I read her past last week and I know how much pain kidneys stones are. I had some a few years ago. I am so glad she is home and doing ok. Let us know if you hear anything else from her. Thanks, Theresa
