Update on My Kidney Stones :(

Well, I still have em!! I went to the Urologist in Mt. Pleasant today, MUSC has a urology clinic there, and told me to wait another week!! If by Monday these little suckers have not passed, we will talk about surgery. He said that they were small, I knew that, 3mm and one smaller, and that they were low enough that most patients would pass them within a few days...uh, I am way past that point. I knew on Friday night that the medicine they gave me, the Flomax, used for guys with prostate problems so the ureters will relax and the pee will flow, they use it on kidney stone patients so the ureters will relax, and the stones will flow out. Well, we can't dissolve capsules, and after speaking with the pharmacist, they cannot be opened or sprinkled on anything. So, the medicine was useless. Well, I am praying for these stones to come out now!!! Please pray they will come out so I don't have to be put to sleep, then they go up and zap them with a laser or they will just grab them if they are there. So, please keep drinking!! Oh, he said that the vitamins and calcium would not cause these stones, they are usually from oxolates, or chocolate, wine, grapes, dark green leafy veggies, and tea will cause stones. I am only guilty of the grapes, and salads and sometimes tea, but not much. Take care guys, and I will update you as I go. I am still on dilaudid and phenergan for pain and nausea. I get really nauseated even after one bite, so I am trying to eat things like grilled chicken and turkey and saltines. That's about it. I did have some SF pudding and it was okay. Popsicles are good too. i am not sure about tomrrow, and if I feel okay, and my hubby will drive me, I will try to go to both....depends on how I am feeling. I really want to go to both, but I may skip MUSC and try to just go to Cheryl's as I have not been yet!! Love you guys, thanks for all the support!! Deborah

Hi Deb, keeping you in my prayers that all will turn out well for you.. this has been quite an ordeal!!!! I don't think that I will make tonight, however I will try for next Thursday.... I haven't seen you in AGES!!!(since October!)... We have GOT to do better!!! Thanks, Towana

Hi Deb. I know how you feel, I spent this past Tuesday morning (2 am****il noon In the hospital with kidney stones... I thought I would die.....I am not sure if I passed it or not (3mm in size) but I am not hurting and I am at work today I have an appointment in a week to go back to the doctor, so we will see surley if it was still their I would know right?
