Just wanted to see how everyone was feeling today. I know we had a couple of people having a hard weekend. I am getting used to the optifast diet, I had a couple of really bad headaches this weekend that I think were due to carb withdrawal, but I feel better today. My two sisters and neice are coming in this Wednesday for a short stay and I am really excited. I am committed to sticking to my diet while they are here and they totally understand. SOOOOO, what's happening with you guys on this gorgeous Monday? Kathy

Hey Kathy, Glad to hear you are feeling better today. My sister is flying over on the 29th I can't wait to see her too!!!! Today I am just dreaming of an approval maybe going to ride over to Pelzer for a while and hang out with mom for a bit other than that I feel pretty good today, ooo and also excited about my upcoming seminar on wed with dr. ross, I decided since i got some time I would explore my options as far as a surgeon is concerned. OOO and let me not forget about my excitement about my appt. in the morning for a ultrasound on my gallbladder, dr. thinks i may have gallstones, WOOHOOO It's very nice hear at the house, perfect with a little overcast. Good luck today with your diet!!! butterlover

Goooodmorning Butterlover, I just read your post and HAD to respond when I read that you are going to see Dr. Ross. Let me tell you that this is a WONDERFUL man! I have met and know several of his patients that will tell you the same thing. My surgery date is set for April 10th and I have complete confidence in Dr. Paul Ross. There were 2 MAJOR requirements that I have when picking a surgeon that will have my life in his hands. 1) Is he a good surgeon, good at what he does, talk to people that have used him before. Answer: [He is and I have talked to MANY, He is very outstanding in his work! He is also very patient and will spend all the time you need to talk and ask questions.] 2) Is he a Christian? Does he know and love our Lord Jesus Christ. Now many will say this is something dumb to require of a surgeon, but for ME PERSONALLY it's as important as question #1. I AM NOT PUTTING MY LIFE IN THE HANDS OF SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T KNOW THE LORD. Again, That's just MY requirement. Answer: [Yes, He knows and loves our Lord Jesus Christ, I know his Pastor, And My Sunday school Teacher has done several bible studies with his wife. She says they are both wonderful Christian people.] I thinks this reflects through his office staff also, They are all GREAT! When I had my appointment with him last week, I had a sheet with 10 questions on it, the last question was (before I'm put to sleep, will you pray with me. He said of course I will, I will be honored) So I am going into this surgery at total peace about everything. Would I let this doctor do surgery on me if I found out he didn't believe in Jesus Christ? The answer is NO! I'm lucky enough to have several Christian friends that work in the O.R. and throughout SRMC and over the past many years, have found all Christian doctors that are not only Christian but are excellent in what they do AND also serve the Lord in their churches. My Family Dr., Colon Dr., Heart Dr., Dentist. HEY don't laugh at this one, but even my Maltese Dogs VET is one of our Deacons at our church! It's just something that is THAT important to ME. God bless you on your Journey, Debra

Kathy, I am not doing so well today Kidney stones, and other lower body problem areas that are very, painful!! If I had not been trying so hard to push out kidney stones, I wouldn't have these terrible things! in my arse!! hemorrhoids!! yucky! If my bottom half did not hurt so much, I would have a pretty good day today. I did have a contract fall through on my listing...I'm a realtor, and that was not good, but it could have been worse! I still love carbs, saltines keep my tummy strong when I am naseous, others don't do so well, I am okay with them though. I don't eat much carbs though. I never thought I would give them up, or soda, but I did! You can do it too! Have a great week!! hey, at least you don't have kidney stones!! worst pain I have ever had...worse than childbirth 2x with no drugs, gallbladder attacks, and appendicitis that almost burst...this still was worse!! worse than waking up after WLS too!! So, your week is already better than mine!! have a great day! Deb

Sorry to hear you are still feeling bad Deb! I have heard that kidney stones were the WORST. I have a co-worker (male) who has chronic kidney stones. I have been told that once they pass it is like instant releif. and hemorrhoids on top of that? You have my sympathy! I will pray that your body passes those awful stones as soon as possible and that you will heal quickly. I will be thinking of you, take care of yourself! Kathy
