So far I've gotten bad news told to me bout my Cholesterol seems it's 417 bad cholesterol is over 6000 and good cholesterol is so low it's not even readable...... my tryglycerids is way over 6000 the computer stopped counting at 6000 then said can't compute the rest.... so now I'm on Lopid 600 mg twice a day and he upped my bp meds from diovan 80mg to diovan 160....... Has started the 6 week diet that Dr. Ross's office requires, I called my insurance and Jenny said she didn't see where any diet was required for them but I have to show I've had a bmi over 40 for 3 years or more..... I have gotten one letter of recommendation done and my pcp said he would do the other one when I've finished the 6 week diet....... I go March 14th for my sleep study so wonder what bad news I'm gonna get from them....... Anywho that's where I'm at right now as far as progress...... *hugs* Stephie

Stephie, Hang in there. with each test, new meds and every passing day you are getting closer to being on the losing side and getting your life back. I pray the sleep study goes well but if you do have sleep apena you will be amazed at how much better you will feel once you start sleeping with the cpap. many hugs and prayers sent your way!!!! PS first week of diet completed today, going to see PCP at 1:00

YOU'RE GONNA THINK I'VE LOST MY MIND, BUT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE GOTTEN "BAD" NEWS FROM YOUR MEDICAL TESTS IS ACTUALLY "GOOD" NEWS FOR THE APPROVAL PROCESS ... THE MORE CO-MORBS & MEDICAL CONDITIONS YOU HAVE ... THE EASIER TO GET APPROVED BECAUSE SO MANY OF THOSE CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE OR COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR SHORTLY AFTER SURGERY & WITH YOUR HIGH PROTEIN/LOW CARB DIET ... EXERCISE & SUCH. NOT TO WORRY ABOUT YOUR SLEEP STUDY. IF YOU NEED A CPAP, YOU WILL SLEEP SOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER & FEEL SO MUCH MORE RESTED. I WAKE A COUPLE HUNDRED TIMES A NIGHT, BUT NICK WAKES OVER 1,200 TIMES A NIGHT SO CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW LITTLE GOOD, QUALITY SLEEP HE'S (WE'RE) GETTING. THE CPAP KEEPS YOU ASLEEP WITH CONSTANT AIRWAY PRESSURE. YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU GET A CPAP IF YOU HAVE SLEEP APNEA! SO, NOT TO WORRY ... JUST LOOK FORWARD TO HEALTHIER DAYS (& YEARS) AHEAD AFTER WLSurgery, MS STEPHIE! GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

*lol* that's just what my pcp told me about my bad news.... but only problem is I've got bottle on top of bottle of meds to take and I'm not used to taking any meds so hard for me to remember..... anyway I'm trying... I'm not too sure about this 6 week diet he's got me on.. he just put me on low fat diet ... didn't tell me how many calories I'm supposed to be at or anything..... so I've been baking or broiling everything now instead of frying..... using no oils and staying away from sweets..... but I have to have my tea.... I can't drink plain water and I can't drink decafe I've tried and I just gag on both of them...... I hope you're doing alot better than you were with the being tired and stuff...... Take care of you and Nick and god bless you both *hugs* Stephie

WELL THEN, I DIDN'T LOSE MY MIND AFTERALL, MS STEPHIE! I HAVE TO SET MY ALARM CLOCK ON MY CELL PHONE TO REMIND ME TO TAKE MY SUPPLEMENTS & THE 2 REMAINING HEART MEDS 4 TIMES A DAY. JUST THINK ... AFTER WLS & YOUR BODY DROPS SOME WEIGHT QUICKLY, A LOT OF YOUR MEDICAL PROBLEMS WILL LITERALLY DISAPPEAR. BE SURE TO GO TO YOUR PCP AT ABOUT 1 - 1 1/2 MONTHS TO HAVE SOME LABS & TO RE-REGULATE YOUR MEDS. YOUR BEGINNING WEIGHT LOSS WILL AFFECT YOUR NEED (OR LACK OF NEED) FOR MEDICATIONS DRAMATICALLY. I DRINK A TON OF TEA ... I GET DEFAC TEA BAGS TO MAKE TEA WITH. YES, THANK YOU MS STEPHIE, I AM DOING A LOT BETTER ... HAIR HAS STOPPED FALLING OUT & MY ENERGY LEVEL HAS INCREASED A BIT MORE. NICK'S EVEN NOTICING HOW I'M WALKING FASTER & ABLE TO DO THINGS WITH MORE EASE. GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

Hang in there Stephie!!! Just remember that doing the 6-week diet is just the beginning of the rest of your life. I know it's hard, but just take it as a journey and enjoy every step of it. Go through each day knowing that the next day will be better. I know the diet goes better once you have had the surgery....but it will happen!!! I'll keep you in my prayers!! Hugs, Dianne
