Here are my answers: I do not exercise regularly, but I am thinking about it. I am thinking about Curves, but does it really work? Seems not as intense as I would like??? I usually ride the recumbent bike or if I go to the base gym I do Crosstrainer. I wish we had a Bally's here...the base gym is too far to drive all the time, and takes up a lot of my time to drive there and then go home and get dressed for work, I need something closer, cheap and fast. Curves you think?? I would like an honest response about Curves from folks who have done it. Thanks everyone! Deborah

Hi Deb(Cutie Patutie )...one of the things that we MUST agree to in my Drs. program is exercise...on Wed. I'll be only 2wks. postop after an open revision and they insist that I do some form of safe exercise(which for me is walking)...I know uh??? I have to admit it has helped me only for the better(I'm healing quicker than I did after my hysterectomy, and feel a millions times better) who would have guessed About Curves...I've never joined thier program...and don't know anyone who has...I would ask if they would allow you a trial period to see how it's going to work for you...I think it's awesome that you want to start an excersise program ...after all...it's about getting our health back and being the best we can be...right? You rock sista let us know what you find... I bet excercise will help with those stalls we encounter. Love and , Tonya

Deb, I haven't been cleared to start regular exercise yet. Just walking and some arm exercises and leg exercises that they had me doing in the hospital. I see Dr. Ross tomorrow, so hopefully he will let me do more. In Spartanburg, we also get 3 months prepaid to use the Cardio Rehabilitation facility at the hospital....so I will be doing that as soon as I can. At home I have an eliptical machine, a stationary bike and a bowflex. I think those three will work everything that needs to be worked I was an aerobic freak in the 80's, and I'd really like to get back into classes like that...not sure if my knees can take it now, though.... Hugs, Dianne

Yeah, I'm just ready to use it. I see my doctor tomorrow, so maybe he will let me do something!! I started back to work this week. Yesterday I was exhausted. Today was much better, but I think I drank my protein shake too fast driving to Greenville this morning. I was not feeling very good for about an hour... But tonight am feeling great!!! Hugs, Dianne

Yup, I exercise -- I joined Ladies Choice Fitness Center. I TRY to go 3 times a week, but I've been bad and I need to improve, so I will. No choice about it. I've been just doing cardio (the treadmill) but my doctor told me today that I can start doing weights, so I'll start them next time I go. I did some research because I was going to join Curves, and found this article: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0846/is_7_23/ai_113650929 Basically it states that you need to supplement the aerobic part of the Curves workout with 30 minutes, 3-4 times a week, and after six months, the machinery doesn't give you enough resistance, so you'd need to supplement the lifting, also. To be honest, had Curves been closer to my home, I probably would have joined anyway, but Ladies Choice is much closer, and they offered me a really good deal ($30 down, $29 a month). Hi! I wear ankle weights for the good part of the day around the house, and do leg kicks with bands to tighten my thighs and hiney most mornings..I was doing stomach crunches BUT, two of my little incisions turned red so I'll try again later on those.. I go walking around the mall a few times a week. I need to do more. I checked the price of joining the Y around here and gosh, they want 70.00 a month to join..I don't know about that.
