Hey Suuz, If he did mine...he will do ANYONE's, ha ha. Really though, he almost turned me away. I was a previous lap nissen, which means I had surgery for acid reflux, and they wrap your stomach around your eshophogus and he had to unwrap it first. Then he had to make sure it wasn't dead from the wrap and then do the RNY. He might have even not been able to do it in the middle of surgery. I had to get 3 other doctor's opinons from his recommendations around the USA, and they said it was 5 times the risk of normal gastric bypass patients, so that really freaked me. Well, he did do the surgery, and it was awesome. That first meeting (I tell him this all the time now) he scared the pee out of me LOL He really scared me that first meeting, but now we are good friends, and email each other back and forth about WLS issues, insurance issues. He REALLY does care about his patients, and is committed to their success. You will do awesome, and I feel certain you will not be turned away as long as you are a "normal no surgery" person. I was a prior STOMACH surgery person and he did mine, so no worries Suuz! God Bless, I will be praying for you and thinking of you. It has been a wonderful experience, not all fun 100% of the time, but pretty close, about 98% of the time Take care, and Congratulations on your appointment, you are 1/2 way there!! Deborah

I hope so Ms.Dawn... I didnt' see where Dr. Byrne does revisions though. Only doctors in Greenville have revisions listed as well as RNY. But I guess I'll do whatever I have to do huh? Just wanted Dr. Byrne to do the surgery because all of you swear by him. But I'd rather let someone else if Dr. Byrne hasn't done many...ya know? Anyways I'll let you know after I see him Thursday. Wish me Luck! Suuz

DR BYRNE'S HAS DONE REVISIONS IN THE PAST, BUT HE DOES VERY FEW REVISIONS NOW - THEY ARE RISKY & UNDERSTANDABLY CAUSE A HIGHER RATE OF LAWSUITS ... BUT, THAT'S THE SURGEON YOU WANT, SO YOU MAY HAVE TO "CONVINCE" HIM. HE'S THE BEST IN MY BOOK, NO DISRESPECT TO ANY OTHER SURGEON. HE DID MS DEBORAH, WHO WAS A VERY RISKY WLSurgery CANDIDATE. SO, HE CAN BE "CONVINCED" TO DO YOUR REVISION. IF IT WAS ME, I'D BE BOLD & TELL HIM THAT YOU HAVE HEARD NOTHING BUT PRAISES ABOUT HIS SKILL HERE ON THE BOARD & YOU FEEL YOU HAVE THE BEST CHANCE FOR SUCCESS WITH HIM. I'D "FIGHT" TO GET HIM EVEN IF HE SAYS, "NO". I'D ASK FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO DISCUSS THE SUBJECT FURTHER. THAT'S HOW MUCH I BELIEVE IN THIS MAN, HIS DEDICATION & HIS SKILLS. HE ALSO FOUND A WAY TO DO MS SUSANN'S SURGERY LAPORASCOPICALLY INSTEAD OF AS AN OPEN, WHICH WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE ... BUT, HE DID IT. THAT GAVE HER A MUCH EASIER RECOVERY. OTHER SURGEONS WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN TRIED. HE HAD TO GO THROUGH & CLEAN UP OLD ADHESIONS FROM MY PREVIOUS GALL BLADDER SURGERY TO CONTINUE LAPORASCOPICALLY ON ME ... AGAIN, HE HAD THE OPTION OF CHANGING TO AN OPEN PROCEDURE DURING THE SURGERY, BUT HE TOOK THE HARDER OPTION ON HIM & THE BETTER/EASIER OPTION FOR ME. THE MAN CARES & DOES WHATEVER IT TAKES TO DO THE BEST FOR HIS PATIENTS. HE'S WORTH THE "FIGHT" MS SUUZ. NO LUCK, SWEETIE ... DON'T BELIEVE IN IT ... I'LL PRAY FOR BLESSINGS FOR YOU! GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK
