Im doing my list of what I need for my first week at home after surgery. I have written down cream soups, sugar free pops, sugar free jello, mashed potatoes, powder milk, instant grits and sugar free applesauce. I need to buy a blender. But is there anything else that I need to get now? Do I need to get stallone pudding for the first week? And where do you buy it from.

I bought 2 jugs of ZeroCarb Isopure Protein (Choc and Vanilla) from GNC. I liked it a lot after surgery, but I used water instead of milk (became lactose intolerant). I also enjoyed the SF Fruit juic popsicles. Tropicana Orange Juice makes a 1/2 less sugar Orange Juice and I had that mixed with water. I also drank apple juice with low sugar. I didn't feel like eating much the 1st week after surgery and mostly drank. I did have a little jello and applesauce though. I would wait on the potatoes a while and be careful grits can make you swell up. You can have decaf tea, coffee, skim milk (if you can tolerate), Bouillon cubes in milk or water, cranberry juice.... Just take it slow... It is a learning experience to see what your new tummy can tolerate.

I USE HOOD CARB COUNTDOWN MILK BEVERAGE - ALL WITH LESS CARBS THAN ACTUAL MILK PRODUCTS & TASTES GREAT ... WHITE, CHOCOLATE & FAT FREE (LIKE SKIM WITH LESS CARBS). YOU CAN GET THEM AT WAL*MART OR JUST ABOUT ANY GROCERY STORE ... PUBLIX, FOR SURE. STALLONE PUDDINGS ARE REAL EASY TO EAT FROM DAY ONE AS THEY JUST SLIDE RIGHT DOWN YOUR POUCH KINDA WITHOUT STOPPING. YOU CAN GET THEM AT THE VITAMIN SHOPPE OR ONLINE AT THE vitaminshoppe.com (I THINK) ... LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PROFILE PAGE FOR THE LINK. YOU CAN GET A SIMILAR PUDDING PRODUCT AT bariatriceating.com, JUST NOT THE "STALLONE" BRAND, BUT I'M SURE THEY'D BE GOOD AS WELL. THAT LINK IS ALSO AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PROFILE, MS CRYSTAL. YOU WON'T EAT OR DRINK A LOT IN THE 1st COUPLE WEEKS ... JUST A COUPLE SPOONS OF ANYTHING ... &, JUST A COUPLE SIPS AT A TIME UNTIL THE SWELLING GOES DOWN ... THEN, YOU'LL NOTICE THAT YOU CAN DRINK A LOT MORE IN SOMEWHAT NORMAL SWALLOWS. OH YEAH, IF YOUR POUCH DOESN'T LIKE THINGS COLD AT THE BEGINNING, STALLONE PUDDING DOESN'T HAVE TO BE REFRIGERATED. NEITHER DOES PROTICA & IT'S LIKE A THICK, SWEET KOOLAID FLAVOR. IT'S ONLY 2.7 OZ SO I CAN NOW (3 MONTHS OUT) DRINK IT IN 2 OR 3 SWALLOWS & IT HAS 25 GRAMS OF PROTEIN. YUP, IT'S AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PROFILE & IF YOU CLICK FROM MY PROFILE, I GET A LITTLE FINDERS FEE. NO PRESSURE TO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU LOOK LIKE YOU ARE SET UP VERY NICELY, MS CRYSTAL! GOOD FOR YOU. GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

These are the things I liked with some recipes to help: Refried beans...add some water to make it runny and some fat free or low fat cheese...yummy Ricotta Cheese...low fat/fat free....put in small dish with a "splash" of pizza quick sauce (lowest sugar content) and little bits of string cheese on top...pop in microwave for about 10 seconds til bubbly...yummy MOCK LASGANA Hood Carb Countdown Milk, mixed with your protein powders, fat free Protein Delite Protein Shakes ARE THE BEST ON THE MARKET, I am addicted to the Very Vanilla Berry and Tropical Splash or Fruit flavors, ALSO BUY some ANY WHEY protein powder as it is dissolvable and totally tasteless for grits, and oatmeal and mashed potatoes. www.bariatriceating.com for protein drinks Idahoian brand instand potatoes, 4 cheese was great so was sour cream flavor, $1.00 per bag, and a bag will last you a week I also liked the Dole brand SF Popsicles as they were real fruit and yummy Carb and Sugar Control Drinkable Yogurt, 2gm of Sugar and 6 gm of protein, add the ANY WHEY to it, makes it 15 gms of protein. BUY A MAGIC BULLET at Walmart or Target, it is the best out there for shakes, and a great investment, comes with the mugs, etc... Healthy Orchard Brand juices, sugar free/no sugar added, blue container, apple, and I diluted it a bit with water PROPEL I lived on Propel as my main water source for the first 2 months as regular water hurt my pouch...still does, plus you can add some ice, propel into the magic bullet and it was like a frozen slushy. Crystal Lite to go pkgs for your bottled water Cottage cheese, small curd, and you can blend it a little bit with a smidgen of Sugar Free jam on the top and mix or blend Tuna, blend it in your magic bullet with some Tuna Salad maker, it was yummy....and HIGH HIGH PROTEIN Shrimp, My hubby would mix this in the magic bullet with a touch of tuna salad maker, like shrimp dip, and yummy Weight Control Quaker Oatmeal, is lower sugar than the sugar free...stay away from sugar alcohol, its terrible for me. Sugar free syrups and different flavored extracts will help flavor your grits and oatmeal and oh, BUY SOME CREAM OF WHEAT to mix it up when you are sick of the other, I added splenda and cocoa to mine, yummy I couldn't do cream soups...too high sugar content, made me dump. I think I never even ate soups other than bullions that first month, with a couple of saltines dissolved in them for body. GOOD LUCK, And the mini SF Puddings with a little bit of spray whipped cream was a treat!
