I'm Home

Hey Ya'll!!! I made it back home this afternoon. I was very nauseated in the hospital while developing a migraine. I was given phenigren, demeral, imitrix....and I don't know what else. I would always feel pretty good in the morning, got laps in, but by lunch time on Tuesday and Wednesday I was feeling awful. My surgeon made the suggestion that I stay at the hospital until tomorrow if I wanted to. He let me go through lunch today to see how well I did. I was determined to go home today. So I stayed sitting in a chair all morning instead of going back to bed (the bed somehow seems to give me a headache....or maybe it's just the hospital...I don't know!!). But I was able to keep everything down today and made it back home. Pretty sore, though. I stopped the morphine pump Wednesday thinking that it may be causing the migraine. I have a patch and some drops for use at home. If I were to use liquid tylenol, how much would I use?? I'm sure tomorrow will be better.....(kind of like having a baby...you forget about the pain, right???). But it's like my pastor's wife told me last night.....Remember...THIS is what we prayed for!!!! It will all be worth it!! Hugs, Dianne

dianne, i am so glad you are home and in your OWN SPACE! Sorry for the migraines you were having..that isn't fun at all, and esp. after GBS, i know it wasn't a good experience... In regards to the liquid tylenol, i'm not sure..but, did you MD give you any meds to take home..I was given some meds that were liquids meds and they helped me a lot for that first week as needed..

Hey Heather, Thanks for your support. They sent me home with liquid Morphine and when I realized that is what it was, I was really scared to try it. And the doctor had already said that I could use liquid tylenol. But my skin is so sensitive around my drain, that I decided to go with the morphine (1 or 2 drops). So, far no headaches and it's been knocking the edge off. Every day is getting better. I went outside and walked 15 minutes today!!! Hugs, Dianne

that is really good.. I too had some kinds of meds but don't thinnk it was morphine... Then after about 4 days, I went to only taking it in the evening around 7pm so i could sleep with a little less pain..Then i switched to the liquid tylenol... GOOD JOB ON THE WALK AROUND THE BLOCK!

Dianne...glad to know you're home...sorry about those headaches. Hang in there you'll be healed before you know it. Can't help with the tylenol info...have you used the meds your Doc sent home with you? If they are'nt working for you maybe you should call your Doc to get the proper dose of tylenol. Welcome Home...Tonya

Hey Tonya, Thanks for your support. I was a little apprehensive about taking the prescription that the doc gave me....it was for Morphine and I was afraid that was part of my migraine problem. But I went ahead and used it (just 1-2 drops) and it has done the trick for my incision pain. Every day is getting better, my dad and I even went for a walk today. Your day is coming!!! Hugs, Dianne
