Where is EVERYONE in SC-----

Hi everyone! I'm here, just not getting enough computer time. I've lost 25 pounds since the surgery (35 pounds total) and I'm doing the treadmill walking when I can. It was so good to meet Heather last week! We had a great time, and next month I hope more folks can come! Have a great day!

Hey, I am doing pretty well. I've lost about 70 from my highest weight. I too have trouble with all of the complements. I've been walking and working out. It feels so much better to be active. I'm so grateful for the surgery and the new friends that I've made. Have a great week everyone Mary

Hi Everyone...I was approved for wls in Dec...I paid the balance on my Registration Fee that my Dr. reqires on Jan. 11th...This fee($2,500.00) covers preop;postop;nutritional;psych;and a ton of other things, FOR LIFE, yes I said FOR LIFE...I have to attend 6 preop meetings before I can recieve a surgery date...these meetings address nutrition, cooking classes with the chef(yes they have a Chef on staff, can you believe it) concerns about upcoming surgeries,Q&As with people at various stages of postop, life in general concerning the journey we are all taking...they are usually facillitated by Dr. Russell our psych Doc, and are extremely informative...these meetings take place every other Mon...I still have 3 to go. Then I will be required to attend postop meetings for life. I had to have an upper GI done on Dec 16...I had a VBG done about 13yrs ago(a complete failure)...I also had to provide my Doc with my old records so he could see exactly what I had done...somehow my records were misplaced for a bit but found again last thursday...so I am waiting to see if my Dr. will require me to have an endoscopic...or if the GI and old records will be enough. So I patiently go through all that is required...knowing one day soon I will be able to shout with joy, I HAVE A SURGERY DATE!!! Hugs from Greenville, Tonya

We're all busy in our house getting ready to move back to Lexington, we're leaving here on the 12th! I can't wait, I'm really looking forward to being back, I've missed our church and all our friends (we moved here from there last year for a year while my hubby was activated with the AF Reserves)... I'm just over 3 months out and down 61lbs! I've gone from a tight size 18 to a 12 and feel great! I'm trying to decide if I'll just drive back down here to see my surgeon for my follow ups or switch to someone in Columbia- any suggestions?? Rebecca 227/166/130

I really like Dr. Givens at Riverside Surgical. He and Dr. Strickland do the WLS together.

I lurk but don't get to post often. So far I'm down 148 lbs and still struggling to lose another 15-20. My PS gets to decide for sure how many more I need to lose. I was at 171 this morning so I'm hoping to get in the 160's this week so maybe I can do a little happy dance!! People tell me that I don't look anything like what I actually weigh though so go figure. I've already had 4 rounds of plastics with a couple more rounds to go. My next consult is scheduled for 1/31 with surgery on 4/7. Can't wait!! My main form of exercise throughout the weight loss process has been martial arts (wonderful for the body!). Have had to stop of course due to plastics, but can't wait to get back into after all my surgeries. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to a get together at some point. I have never made it to a single support group meeting throughout my entire WLS journey.

You can do it. I'm quite sure! As for me.... well let's see. Full tummy tuck with vertical incision (no muscle repair) on 2/21. Breast lift extended along to the side to have some of that annoying bra fat removed.... 5/17. Mini tummy tuck & arm lift on 7/21. Thigh lift on 9/23. I was back to work within a week and a half ..at most.. on all of them. For me, all done outpatient at Lexington Medical Center in Irmo. They are all wonderful over there. My PS is Brett Carlin. Absolutely love him. I'd be glad to talk with any of you guys when you get to that point. I've sent lots of people his way. His office staff is excellent as well. I've gotten to know them all very well over the past year!
