finally

I called my insurance company today....... BC/BS and my gastic bypass is covered but she said she didn't see any requirements listed so dr. office said they would see what all I need to have sent in.... Dr.'s office finally called me back after over a week of me calling them and I have my upper GI on monday at 8:45 ..... will have that in spartanburg but the endoscopy will have to be done in charlotte so the surgeon can do it..... is the endoscopy normal test before the surgery? thanks for listening to me ramble Stephie

Stephie, I think it depends on your surgeon and you. My surgeon didn't have one done, but I had an egd done about 2 years ago. So I guess he didn't see the need. Maybe they need to do yours because of your prior surgery. But at least you are getting somewhere!!! Hugs, Dianne

*does the happy dance* I am finally getting somewhere now if I just knew what my insurance requires you to have to get final approval..... all Jenny told me was to be sure the surgeon submitted paper work before the surgery ...... But least I do know for sure the bypass is covered.... just racking my brain on what all I need

Congrats! At least you get to do the happy dance and know that it's a covered procedure..... good luck with the insurance approval process. Just start with the surgeon's office......they've been through this many, many times and should know what to do and what paperwork needs to be submitted.

well had upper gi done..... very glad it's over with that barium stuff is sooooooo nasty ..... least with the endoscopy they'll knock me out for it Thanks again ladies..... maybe I'll be joining you all soon if nothing doesn't go wrong *prays it doesn't*
