After-surgery report

Hi everyone! I am doing GREAT! My surgery went really well, and I've feeling wonderful. I go back to work tomorrow, and not a second too soon, because I was going stir-crazy at home. I'm feeling so wonderful I sometimes doubt I actually had surgery -- if it weren't for the 7 little sores on my abdomen, and the fact that I can eat so little, I wouldn't believe it. I'm having a problem with the short term disability people, though. They waited until almost three weeks after the surgery to decide that my obesity was a pre-existing condition, and they're fighting paying me. They're doing all they can to try to find evidence that I was treated for it in the six months before April 17 of this year (when my insurance kicked in). They won't find any evidence of it, because I wasn't treated for it, but you know? I NEED the money! My mortgage payment is already past due..... Ah well. I'm so pleased with the results of the surgery -- I've lost about 20 pounds -- and I'm lucky to have had such a wonderful surgery (Dr. Givens) and such wonderful friends who've supported me and prayed for me. Hey there I know you will win with the disability people...they just don't know who they are messing with!!! You are doing wonderful and are such an inspiration to me. I am still praying for your recovery to continue being successful. Keep praying for me and my surgery to be uneventful. --Kelly

You are doing so well. Congratulations. I've heard that if you need to, call the South Carolina Insurance Comission and file a complaint. It may help with the disability. Good Luck Mary

WE'RE SO GLAD TO HEAR THE GREAT REPORT ON YOUR SURGERY, MS LISA. A GREAT BIG "CONGRATULATIONS" ON THE 20 # LOSS ... YOU HAVE SEEN THOSE 20 #s FOR THE VERY LAST TIME EVER!!!!!!!!!! I WAS THE SAME WAY ... MY SURGERY WAS A "WALK IN THE PARK" & IS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF (EXCEPT MARRY MY NICK!). I'D DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT! AWWWHHH, THE JOYS OF INSURANCE ... WE PAY THE PREMIUMS ... THEY TRY TO STOP US FROM THE BENEFITS OF WHAT WE PAY FOR! I KNOW MONEY IS TIGHT, BUT IF YOU COULD GET AN ATTORNEY TO WRITE A LETTER DEMANDING THEM TO "SHOW CAUSE" FOR THEIR DELAY/DENIAL ... THEY MAY JUST BACK DOWN & PAY YOU. GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
