Suffering from a cold...

I have a terrible cold, and just got over a terrible stomach bug too. I think these things are being passed around at my office. I was wondering if I should go see my PCP or if I should try some over the counter meds and see if they help. I feel terrible, all I want to do is sleep, and I don't feel like eating anything! I have a cough, sore throat and I am coughing up green yuck. Thanks for the advice, Carla

I'm getting over a cold also. My doctor told me I can take any Tylenol products. But if you are cought up green yuck, I believe that green means an infection. Couldn't hurt to call your doctor. If you are put on medicine I would call your surgeon who did your surgery to see if it is ok to take the medicine. That's what I did when my PCP put me on steroids for a hurt back. Hope this helps. ALSO, HE COULD PERSCRIBE SOMETHING STRONGER THAN OTC PRODUCTS SINCE YOU HAVE "COLOR" IN YOUR MUCUS ... THAT MEANS THERE IS AN INFECTION SOMEWHERE. JUST BE SURE TO REMIND YOUR DOC ... NO NSAIDs, ASPIRIN PRODUCTS, TIME-RELEASED MEDS OR CAPSULES. IF HE CAN GET YOU LIQUID ANTIBIOTICS, THAT IS THE BEST FOR GB PATIENTS TO BE ABLE TO ABSORB, BUT MOST PHARMACIES DON'T HAVE THEM ON HAND.
