Tomorrow's the day!

Hi! I'm from Charlotte, but my surgery is in SC, so I hope you don't mind my being on your site! Tomorrow is it! I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 AM. I'm so excited, but so scared, also! I just really want it to be over and know that I do wake up!!!! I've been trying to stock up on some foods - so far I've got some baby food high in protein, no carbs or very little carbs, SF pudding, SF jello, crystal light, tuna, soups, grits. I don't really know what kind of protein drinks to get - so far I have ultra slim fast. I see what some of you are talking about, but I have run out of time to get to the health food store!! Any suggestions on the food/protein drinks? Thanks and please say a prayer!!! Crystal

Hi Crystal. Welcome to Charleston. We will all be praying for you tomorrow. I see you are having Tuesday surgery, so it is probably Dr. Byrne. He is WONDERFUL and you will do great. Hi, thanks for the support!!!!! My surgery is going to be in Conway, SC, with Dr. Anderson. I was supposed to have had it done in Charlotte, but I found out that effective 1/1 my insurance won't be covering the surgery, so my doctor couldn't fit me in and I had to go outside of Charlotte to find someone. Thank you, though! Don't mean to sound dumb, but I'm originally from Georgia, so is Charleston close to Conway? Thanks, Crystal

Hi Crystal, Dr Byrne is sooo great. I know you will do great, he is the best!! Slim fast has too much sugar from what I heard, and also lactose, which will make you dump. Try www.bariatriceating.com the protein shakes a lot of us use is Protein Delite, any flavor, but the chocolate tastes like Wendy's Frosty and also the Tropical Blast is awesome!! Use Carb Countdown milk, no lactose, and it won't make you sick. I lived on popsicles (sugar free Dole, all fruit) and also protein powder to add to grits, mashed potatoes and make it soupy.
