CJ, There are, maybe, 10 or 12 TOP surgeons in the US that do DS. That's not very many!! Because the DS surgery is a more complicated and difficult surgery, you want to make sure you get a surgeon who has done MANY of them, like, maybe, 500+ !! I do not know of a top surgeon in SC and that is why I am driving all the way to Nashville, TN to see Dr. Husted as my surgeon. If you have ever watched the DHC(Discovery Health Chanel) and seen the hour shows called, "Kathy's Story", or "Big John", you have seen some of Dr. Husted's handy work!! He did DSs on both of those patients. Dr. Husted and Dr. Spaw are both excellent surgeons and have recieved the "Excellence" award for Bariatric surgery centers. They do the DS, RNY, and LAP Band. Because they do all three and many revisions, they not only can do the surgeries but they can help you find the exact right surgery for you! Best of luck on finding your surgeon!! Also there is a DS board oh OH that you may want to check out: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/posts.html Patty
