FANTASTIC LCBB MEETING TONIGHT!

WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT TIME THIS EVENING!! AS USUAL, WE WERE ALL LAUGHING & CUTTING THE FOOL ... IT IS SO WONDERFUL TO BE ABLE TO SHARE AN ENJOYABLE, RELAXING EVENING WITH THE BEST PEOPLE YOU COULD EVER WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH!!! TONIGHT WAS MS SCORRO'S "CELEBRATION DINNER" & WE CELEBRATED AT THE OLIVE GARDEN IN NORTHWOODS MALL. SHE HAD THE FUNNIEST STORY. SHE SAID THAT SHE HAS BEEN EATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT. SHE EVEN GETS UP IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORING & RAIDS THE FRIG & GOES BACK TO BED. WELL, SHE HAS LOST 6 #s DOING ALL THAT EATING!!!!!!!!!!! JUST TOO FUNNY! SHE WAS PRESENTED WITH A CUTE, STUFFED UNICORN TO TAKE TO MUSC AS A LITTLE REMINDER OF OUR LOVE & SUPPORT. I DON'T KNOW IF SHE WILL GET IT FROM HER SWEET HUBBY, EUGENE, OR NOT ... HE HAD IT SITTIN' IN HIS LAP & SEEMED PRETTY ATTACHED TO IT! JUST IN CASE YOU THINK THAT SUPPORT GROUPS & MESSAGE BOARDS DON'T MATTER ... WHEN SCORRO CAME FOR THE 1st TIME TO OUR THURSDAY NIGHT GATHERING, SHE WAS PETRIFIED AT THE THOUGHT OF THE SURGERY ... SHE WANTED IT, BUT WAS DEEPLY AFRAID OF IT. BUT, SHE CAME AGAIN & LURKED ON THE SC BOARD. THEN TONIGHT, SHE WALKED IN THE ROOM WITH ALL THE CONFIDENCE ONE COULD HAVE, JUST AS SURE OF HER DECISION AS COULD BE. SHE'S PEACEFUL WITH HER DECISION & THE FEAR IS GONE. SO, IF YOU THINK THE SUPPORT OF OTHERS HAS NO EFFECT, THINK AGAIN. WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER; TAKE THE TIME TO HELP ANOTHER ON THEIR WLS JOURNEY. IT TRULY DOES MAKE A DIFFERNCE!!!!!!!!!!! SPEAKING OF STUFFED TOYS ... NOVEMBER 3rd WAS MS SUSANN'S "CELEBRATION DINNER". SOMEONE (OLD TIMERS SYNDROME ... JUST CAN'T REMEMBER WHO) E-MAILED ME THAT SHE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO GIVE MS SUSANN A GIFT SINCE SHE IS OUR "FEARLESS LEADER". WE HADN'T DONE SO BEFORE THAT. WELL, I FOUND THE CUTEST BABY TEDDY BEAR THAT HAS REVOLVING LIGHTS COMING FROM ITS BODY WHEN YOU PRESS ITS PAW. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE BABY BEAR WAS THE "FEARLESS ONE" & MS SUSANN IS STILL OUR LOVED "LEADER" ... SHE SLEPT WITH THE LITTLE TEDDY BEAR WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL & MADE IT THROUGH THE ORDEAL WITH FLYING COLORS ... WE'LL HAVE TO GET A PICTURE OF HER WITH HER LITTLE BEAR FOR OUR MEMORY BOOK! OUR GROUP WAS SERVED BY A REALLY NICE YOUNG MAN; HE SAID HIS AUNT HAD WLS, & WAS LOSING WEIGHT & DOING GREAT. THAT WAS REALLY AS HE UNDERSTOOD OUR DIFFERENT EATING NEEDS. I'LL HAVE TO CALL OLIVE GARDEN TOMORROW & TELL THEM HOW GOOD HE WAS AT TAKING CARE OF US. IT WAS KINDA FUNNY ... I HAD ASKED MS MERLON TO SAVE NICK & I SEATS SO WE COULD CHAT WITH THEM. WE NEVER SEEM TO GET TO SIT NEXT TO THEM FOR SOME REASON. SO, WHEN WE CAME IN, MASTER SOLAR OFFERED TO LET ME HAVE HIS SEAT SO I COULD SIT NEXT TO MS MERLON. THEN, OUR "GUEST OF HONOR", MS SCORRO, ARRIVED WITH HER HUBBY, EUGENE ... SO, MASTER SOLAR AGAIN LOST HIS SEAT. BY THE TIME ALL THE LADIES HAD ARRIVED, THE POOR GENTS (SOLAR, EUGENE & NICK ) WERE BANISHED TO THE FAR END OF THE TABLE ...BUT, THEY WERE MOST GRACIOUS ABOUT IT & PROBABLY A BIT RELIEVED SINCE THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO SIT IN THE MIDST OF 9 BABBLING WOMEN WITH 4O DIFFERENT CONVERSATIONS GOING AT ONCE. MS MERLON BROUGHT SOME PICTURES THEY TOOK OF THE GROUP, & OF THEM IN THE HOSPITAL ... FOR THE LCBB "MEMORY BOOK" ... &, BOTH MASTER SOLAR & MY HUBBY, NICK, TOOK MORE PICTURES TONIGHT. LIKE MS MERLON SAID ... A YEAR FROM NOW WHEN WE LOOK BACK ON THESE PICTURES, WE WILL BE AMAZED AT THE DIFFERENCE IN EACH OF US. OUR "A" STUDENT , MS TOWANA, GOT OFF EARLY FROM HER COLLEGE CLASS ... WE'VE MISSED HER BECAUSE OF HER CLASS SCHEDULE ... SO, IT WAS WONDERFUL HAVING HER BACK WITH US. BTW, I LOVED YOUR HAIR TONIGHT, ANGEL GIRL! LOOKS CLASSY PULLED BACK! MS BARBARA IS NOW DOWN 105 #s ... WOWOWOWOWOWOW! SHE IS OUR EXPERT ... SHE'S FURTHER DOWN THE WLS JOURNEY THAN ANYONE IN OUR GROUP. WE CERTAINLY GET A LOT OF INFO FROM HER ... &, WE APPRECIATE HER DEDICATION TO ALL OF US & TO OUR LITTLE BAND OF BYPASS BUDDIES! SHE HAD SOME GOOD ADVISE FOR WLS LOSERS WHO ARE DIABETIC. SHOULD YOUR SUGAR DROP DANGEROUSLY LOW, AS HERS DID ... YOU DON'T WANT TO REACH FOR YOUR NORMAL REMEMDY ... GLUCOSE PILLS OR HIGH-CARB DRINKS LIKE YOU DID BEFORE. THAT DRAMATIC AN INCREASE IN YOUR GLUCOSE LEVEL COULD BE JUST AS DANGEROUS AS THE LOW BLOOD SUGAR SITUATION. INSTEAD, GRAB A LITTLE MILK. ENOUGH CARBS TO HELP, NOT ENOUGH CARBS TO HURT! MS CHERYL DROPPED BY FOR A SECOND OR TWO, BUT COULDN'T STAY TONIGHT, WHICH WE WERE SORRY TO HEAR. BUT, SHE WAS SO SWEET ... SHE BAKED A SUGAR-FREE PUMPKIN PIE FOR DESERT IN CELEBRATION OF THE UPCOMING THANKSGIVING SEASON. WELL, I KNOW OF SEVERAL WHO WERE VERY, VERY "THANKFUL" (MY HONEY BUNNY INCLUDED) AS THEY ENJOYED THAT DELICIOUS DESERT FROM MS CHERYL. WHEN DO YOU FIND TIME TO BAKE WITH YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE, MS CHERYL? THANK YOU SO MUCH ... HOW SWEET! ... BOTH THE PIE & YOU!!!!!!!! WE HAD 3 NEW LCBBuddies JOIN US THIS EVENING ... MS KYLEE WHO IS ALSO FAIRLY NEW TO OUR SC BOARD. HER "CELEBRATION DINNER" IS COMING UP AFTER THANKSGIVING, SO SHE GETS TO CHOOSE WHERE WE CELEBRATE HER WALK TO THE LOSING (HEALTHY) SIDE OF LIFE. SHE IS SO EXCITED ABOUT HER WLS, & READY, READY, READY! HER HUBBY COULDN'T JOIN US THIS EVENING AS HE'S WORKING EXTRA SO HE CAN TAKE TIME OFF TO BE WITH HER RIGHT AFTER HER SURGERY ... KUDOS TO HIM!!!!!!!!!! &, WE HOPE TO MEET HIM SOON. MS MARY & MS KELLY CAME FOR THE 1ST TIME AS WELL. THEY WORK TOGETHER & HAD THEIR WLS ON THE SAME DAY ... MS KELLY, THEN MS MARY FOLLOWED! THEY HAVE BOTH LOST 40 #s & SAY IT HAS BEEN SO MUCH EASIER BECAUSE THEY HAVE EACH OTHER FOR SUPPORT! NOW, THAT MS KELLY ... WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON HER. I HAVE A SNEAKING SUSPICION THAT SHE HAS SOME MISCHIEF UP HER SLEEVE! &, THAT'S ALL FOLKS ... UNTIL ANOTHER TIME ... GOD BLESS Y'ALL!

I had so much fun meeting all of you last night. But my pouch had revenge on me this afternoon. I spent so much time bragging that I was 8 weeks out and never sick......Let me give you some advice. Even sugar-free icecream made with splenda is not fool proof. I had my first "true dumping with the throwing up". Oh well, the ice cream wasn't that great any way, I would much rather have a chicken ceasar salad. I can't wait to see you all again. I will bring Kelly back with me, but I can't control her. Who knows what she'll be like after her trip to Disney? Thanks again for the great time Mary

SO, I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT GETS A GOOD KICK IN THE BEHIND WHEN I START BRAGGING!!! ISN'T THAT ALWAYS THE WAY! I'VE HAD 2 DUMPS (NO THROWING UP) BUT IT HAS BEEN 11 MISERABLE DAYS FROM MY 1st DUMP ON LIVERWURST ... WHICH TOOK 4 DAYS TO COMPLETELY GET OVER ... THEN, JUST WHEN I WAS FEELING BETTER, I BROKE MY OWN "GOLDEN RULE" OF "NO WHITE CARBS" & DUMPED ON DELICIOUS POTATO SALAD! BOY, IT WAS GOOD GOING DOWN, BUT THE REST OF THE PROCESS WAS PURE MISERY!! THE WORST PART IS THAT THESE INCIDENTS HAVE STARTED MY REFLUX BACK UP SO BAD THAT I HAD TO GO BACK ON ACIPHEX INSTEAD OF PEPCID, & THE ACID REFLUX IS SO SEVERE THAT MY THROAT IS SCALDED , MY VOICE SOUNDS LIKE I'VE GOT "SMOKER'S THROAT" ALL GRAVELY SOUNDING ... & THE BACK OF MY THROAT FEELS LIKE IT'S RAW & PEELING FROM THE ACID BURN. COINCIDENTLY, I JUMPED (WITH BOTH FEET) INTO A STALL THE VERY DAY I DUMPED ON THE DREADED LIVERWURST & HAVEN'T GOTTEN OUT OF IT YET IN 11 DAYS ... I LOST 1 # THE 1st WEEK OF THE STALL & 1.40 #s SO FAR THIS WEEK. I'D LIKE TO CRAWL IN BED FOR A WEEK! BUT, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!! I'M TOO STUBBORN ... I'LL BEAT THIS STALL ONE WAY OR THE OTHER! Just wanted to say that I had a wonderful time at dinner last night. I was SO tired and achey when I got there and you guys really perked me up!! Lots of warm fuzzies. It was so great to have a huge table full of family again and we sure missed everyone who couldn't attend. Three new ladies joined us - 2 post-op and one whose surgery is coming up soon. We're so glad you came. Again, all our best to Scorro and Eugene on her surgery next week and Cheryl, our thoughts are with you and we hope you'll be able to join us again next time. The pie was delicious!! Thank you so much. I used to be an only child, but now I have lots of sisters and brothers. I think the suggestion to start meeting at the Food Court at Northwoods Mall is definitely one to try out. It's got lots of good points. When we decide to meet there, I'm going to bring my clothes for a clothing exchange and urge you to do the same. My first closet purge, back in April, ended up going to Good Will, which is fine, but so impersonal. Some things still had the tags on them. I have a couple of glittery holiday dresses, so, if anyone's got somewhere special to go, I'd be glad to pass them on. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I know I have so much to be thankful for. My one year "birthday" is coming up on the 29th. Can't belive it's gone so fast! Love & hugs, B

I used to have a social life once upon a time. I have 2 sequined dresses that I think are size 22. I always cut the labels out because they tear up my skin. One is a pretty marine blue and the other is gold and black. They're knee-length. I have a black, turquoise, and purple sequined top and a white pearled lace top (from my wedding) that are size 24. I also have a classy navy satin-collared pantsuit, size 22, and a cute pair of dressy black pants with metallic gold spots on them, with an elastic waist, I think are 22's. Also, a dark fun-fur chubby jacket. All are up for grabs. They have to go somewhere, so I hope one of you guys can use them. I'll bring them and my other stuff the next time we meet and we can look at them in the mall outside the restaurant. I don't think anyone would care what we do out there. If I can find the download cable for my camera, I'll take pictures and send them to you. Love, B

Ok I am going to ry an post a reply AGAIN! for some reason the last two days everytime I try it times out on me Anyway! I had an absolutely wonderful time meeting everyone Thursday night and am looking forward to spending more time with you lovely ladies! I was even lucky enough to get an angel out of the night. Thanks Kelly!! I deffinitly feel much better about everything after getting to talk to everyone. Only 22 days and counting!!!! I have been thinking about where I would like to have our next meeting since it's going to be my big night. What does everyone think about Jason's Deli?? It's in the Northwoods Mall. If not let me know and I'll think of something else.

They have plenty of room. There are booths nad tables I'll call them and make sure ty don't have a problem with us moving the tables but I don't see that they would.
