What did you eat today???
Okay guys, I have seen this on the main message board and thought, since some of us (me especially) worry about whether we are eating what we should and need some ideas from those of us who are more experienced
here goes.....
What did you eat today? I ate:
8:00 a.m. Protien Shake (some of Kate's "crack")
10:00 a.m. Blue Bunny Yogurt
12:00 p.m. Cream of Potato Soup (with cheese melted on top)
3:00 p.m. A cup of applesauce
I plan to have some pureed pork roast and mashed potatoes, with a little green beans (also pureed) on the side (little being the operative word here) for dinner and then finish my day with a protien shake before I go to
at 9:00 (a little more of Kate's "crack" - thank you very much Kate
).
So ---- what did you have today????? Does mine sound okay???

What a good idea, I love reading these. Today was hard, I am having trouble getting in enough food, nothing looks good. (I can't believe that I can honestly say that food does not appeal to me, what magic did Dr. Byrnes work???????????) I did order a protein sampler pack that just came in, so I will have to experiment.
6:30am, bad bad bad, just couldn't eat
9:00am 1/3 breyers light yogurt
2:00 diced chicken and broccoli
8:00 4 meatballs in a muchroom sauce
10:00, chocolate mint protein shake
This is probably my worst day yet, I'm glad there's always tomorrow!!!!

I'VE BEEN IN A LITTLE "STALL" EVER SINCE THAT HORRIBLE LIVERWURST EXPERIENCE ... SO, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO INCREASE MY FLUIDS & PROTEIN, BUT THAT HAS PUT MY FATS HIGHER THAN I LIKE BECAUSE OF MILK & MEAT FATS. I'VE ALSO BEEN RETAINING FLUIDS SO, HOPEFULLY THE INCREASED INTAKE OF FLUIDS WILL HELP THAT.

Kelly and I are really coming tonight, we are so excited. I was worried about eating too much also when I first started. I called Dr. B's nutritionist and she told me that the liquids are going right through me, so not to stress too much. I was making a protein shake with carnation instant breakfast and protein powder that was 350 calories. I thought that was entirely too much, but Ms. Shipman said not to worry, just get the liquids and protein in. Good luck, I agree that it is all so confusing...

PS About 3 weeks out I had some melted provolone cheese, it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT WOULD BE VERY HARD FOR YOU TO EAT TOO MUCH, ESPECIALLY THIS SOON AFTER SURGERY. UNLESS YOU ARE NAUSIATED, BLOATED, HAVE A LOT OF PAIN ... I DON'T THINK YOU ARE EATING TOO MUCH.
I COULDN'T GET ANYTHING MUCH DOWN FOR SEVERAL, SEVERAL DAYS AFTER SURGERY. THEN, ALL OF SUDDEN, I COULD EAT & DRINK WITH RELATIVE EASE; I THINK THE SWELLING WENT DOWN. NOW, I HAVE NOOOO PROBLEMS GETTING LIQUID FOODS LIKE CREAMED SOUPS DOWN, EVEN WITH ADDED PUREED SEAFOOD.
AS FOR DRINKING CLEAR LIQUIDS; I CAN ALMOST DRINK AS WELL AS BEFORE MY SURGERY. CLEAR FLUIDS DON'T SEEM TO STOP & SIT IN MY POUCH. THEY JUST FLOW RIGHT ON THROUGH. IF I OVERDUE IT, I WILL FEEL BLOATED DOWN LOW IN MY BELLY AREA.
ALSO, IF I ADD SOMETHING OF TEXTURE (LAST NIGHT I ADDED 1 OZ OF DELI THIN ROAST BEEF CHEWED WELL), I GET BLOATED FROM THAT - LAST NIGHT IT TOOK 3 HOURS OF BURPING TO FEEL "NORMAL" AGAIN.
I'LL BRING A COPY OF MY EXCEL SPREADSHEETS TONIGHT SO YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT & HOW MUCH I'VE EATEN.
I DON'T CARE ABOUT DIVERSITY RIGHT NOW ... I AM TOO FOCUSED ON AMOUNTS & RESULTS.
