EVERYONE ---POST HERE!
WOWOWOWOW!!!!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR SURGERY DATE, MS CARLA ...
NOT TO WORRY, SWEETIE ... IT'S A WALK IN THE PARK ... ALMOST EVERYONE SAYS, "OH, IT WASN'T AS BAD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE" ... SO, KEEP THAT IN MIND & REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL MEDICAL TEAM TO TAKE CARE OF ANY DISCOMFORT YOU MAY HAVE. PERSONALLY, I DIDN'T HAVE 1 BIT OF PAIN ... NO NEED FOR THE MORPHINE AT ALLLLLLLLL ... JUST A LITTLE DISCOMFORT & A PULLING FEELING FOR A FEW DAYS ... NOTHING I WOULD CALL "PAIN".
YOU'RE IN OUR PRAYERS FOR SURE .................
GOD BLESS YOU
DAWN & NICK

Well, looks like I'll be the first 'oldie' posting.
Had my surgery 9/23/03. Highest weight was 319, now down to 184 (even though people are quite shocked when I tell them how much I still weigh!). Most of my weight was lost in the first 12 months and I've just fluctuated up and down since then.
I've gone through 4 rounds of plastics since February this year to my last one on my WLS 2 yr anniversary. Somehow I always manage to find back on the scale what my wonderful, wonderful PS removes though. Ugh!!
I have absolutely no regrets about the WLS or any of my plastics. Absolutely life changing! Still have some plastics to go, but it's grea****ching my new body emerge and change after each surgery. I won't lie and say that it's all a piece of cake.....especially the first 6 mos post-op, but all the bad stuff tends to fade away.
Emotionally? Still working on thinking of myself as thin (especially since the BMI chart still says I'm obese!). Have friends tell me they wish I'd see myself the way they do. I'm slowly getting there!!

Hey Ya'll:
I'm pre-op. I just had the 2nd (and final) part of my psych eval today. The doctor was very intidimating, he asked me if he was making me nervous (well..
..YES!!). I really think that he was trying to make me second guess the surgery and even how I felt about myself. But he said that I passed and that he would send a report to Dr. Ross's office. I'll follow up with them tomorrow....then it's the waiting game for insurance approval.
My CPAP machine will arrive tomorrow, so I'm so looking forward to sleeping Tuesday night!!
My pulmanary doctor really opened my eyes to my sleep apnea and what my body goes through when my oxygen saturation drops into the 70's.
How do I feel?? I'm excited about the possibilities of having a new life
....but right now, I'm just tired and overwhelmed...
Hugs,
Dianne

I'VE ALWAYS FOUND IT HILARIOUS THAT THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE WE ARE SANE ENOUGH TO AGREE TO HAVING OUR STOMACHS SEVERED INTO 2 PIECES.
KINDA TWISTED THINKING, IT SEEMS ... BUT HEY, IF IT GETS US OUR WLS, THEN LET'S PRETEND TO BE SANE!
NICK & I HAVE USED CPAPs FOR OVER 6 MONTHS & WE CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH BETTER YOU WILL FEEL WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GET A FEW "GOOD" NIGHTS SLEEP UNDER YOUR BELT.
WE CALL OURSELVES DARTH & DARTHETTE VADAR ... THE MASKS ARE FUNNY LOOKING BUT WE MATCH!
GOD BLESS YOU

Hello Heather.... I had my gastric-bypass January will be 2 yrs.... I have come a long ways in 2 yrs... I started out wearing size 32 and i am now wearing a 10-12...Although it is still hard because i don't see myself as being thinner... I guess it takes time for the mind to catch up with the body.... But I am so thankful for this surgery....
I am going in 2 weeks for next round of Plastic surgery... So I am excited but also scared...
Emotionally I am alittle stressed... My sister has been sick for a while now.. She had gastric by-pass 2 months after me and she has had problems... She was put back in the hospital for the 4th time in the last 2 months...So everyone please keep her in your prayers...
I hope everyone has a good week.... Brenda...
