I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THAT YET, BUT I THINK NICK IS. HE WAS FINE GOING INTO THE SURGERY, BUT HE IS REALLY SCARED NOW ... LIKE THE REALITY OF THE IMPORTANCE OF STICKING TO THE PROGRAM HA**** HIM HARD ... IF I DON'T, THEN I COULD END UP AT A MAJOR HEALTH RISK. HE CALLS ME DURING THE DAY AS USUAL & WE CHIT CHAT ABOUT EVERYTHING, BUT WHEN HE COMES HOME TIRED, HE IS REAL MOODY ABOUT WHAT I HAVE OR HAVEN'T EATEN, ETC. FINALLY, THE OTHER NIGHT I KEPT PRESSURING HIM UNTIL HE BLURTED OUT THAT HE WAS SCARED I WAS GOING TO DIE IF I DIDN'T DO BETTER ON MY INTAKE. SO, IF YOU HAVE A SPOUSE WHO IS EMOTIONAL AFTERWARDS, HE/SHE JUST MAY BE PLAIN SCARED FOR YOU. THIS IS A BRAND NEW LIFESTYLE ... NONE OF US ARE REALLY COMPLETELY SURE OF WHAT TO DO ... SO, BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELVES & YOUR FAMILY! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

I was exactly the same, except I was alternate crying with fussing and my husband and children. About two weeks out I was much better and had to apologize with all. I'm four weeks out and finally feel normal and lighter. Good look!!! Mary

It took me about three weeks before I could get off the roller coaster. I was filled with "oh my god what have I done to myself, I can't eat anything, I'll never be able to eat again." I promise it does get better. I'm in my 4th week and I feel pretty good and I'm eating, not a lot, but I enjoy everything that goes into my mouth, it tastes so good. I thought of it as a grieving time because I have lost some things, but now I can see that the benefits will be worth it.

I HAVEN'T HAD THE EMOTIONS ... I HAVE A WLS FRIEND WHO IS GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING OF FEELING SHE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO ENJOY FOOD AGAIN. FOOD TASTES FANTASTIC TO ME ... I JUST DON'T HAVE THAT INTERNAL TRIGGER/DESIRE TO EAT & IT TAKES ME FOREVER. THE ONLY THING I'VE FOUND IS THAT ISOPURE GIVES ME HORRIBLE ACID BURN, SO I'VE BACKED OFF IT FOR A WHILE. GOD BLESS YOU, MS DONA DAWN & NICK

Hey Janet I will be 2 weeks post-op monday the 7th and I went through it to one minute I was having a pity party the next I was yelling at my poor hubby. You have to remember you have just totally changed your life and your body and mind have to get used to it. Each day it gets better for me Marcey RNY 10/24/05 - 255/243/150
