Riverside Surgical

Anyone on here ever hit the support group meetings from Riverside Surgical with Dr Givens and Strickland? I've never been to one of the meetings and at 2 years out, I think it would be good to get around some other bariatric patients on a routine basis to reinforce some of the basics again. I still have around 25 lbs I want to lose and I am so far from the initial 'rules' you have to live by that it's laughable. I'm going to try and go to the next one, but just curious if anyone else on here goes and can tell me what it's like.

Hi Kimberly, I have been to the support group meetings and they are great, the best I have ever been too. I am from Charleston and have been to two different ones here as well, but Dr. Strickland's is the best. They have well over 30+ people attending, preops and many post ops. Dr. Strickland OR Dr. Givens is there. No other group I know of has their doctors come to the support meeting. They will cover whatever you need to discuss, it is great! Good luck! Lori

Kinberly, although he wasn't my surgeon, I wouldn't mind going to see how it is.

Great! The next meeting is Wed, 11/2 from 6-8 in the Lexington Medical Center auditorium.

Not sure if you are familiar with the LMC Campus or not. If you are on HWY 378 the main hospital is on the right and Lexington Medical Park is on the left. The support group meets in Lexington Medical Park's auditorium. It is on the ground level floor to the left after you walk into the main lobby. Email me if you need more directions...
