well, i am feeling a little blah. I know i am not getting in enough liquids, and before you yell at me please let me explain how i'm feeling. I am one of those persons that takes this all seriously and wanted to do exactly what my sugeon said, but i am struggling. I got out the hospital 2.5 days post op ( surgery was mon) and i try and sip : ice chips water unsweet tea with splenda chicken broth propel pudding jello sugar-free popsicles carb solutions protein nectar apple ectsasy protein drink mixed with orange crystal light and ice these are all the things i'm trying but so far, i think i'm lucky if i am getting in 8 oz. a day Many of the above seem way to sweet, and so now i find myself back to ice chips. Did anyone else struggle. I'm looking for some encouragement and i'm mentally frustrated b/c i don't want to end up back in the hosptial b/c of dehydration or something.. HELP!!

I had the same problem so what the dr told me was dilute whatever it is with water. The trick is sip slow and try room temp liquids. First out i was sipping 2oz in one sitting and that took 20 min. So i can relate. I hope this helps.

YOU'RE BEING WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY TOO HARD ON YOURSELF, SWEETIE ... YOU SOUND LIKE A PERFECTIONIST (I KNOW, I AM AS WELL). YOU ARE DOING FINE! JUST IMPROVE A LITTLE EACH DAY & YOU'LL BE UP TO THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT IN THE RIGHT TIME. FROM WHAT I'VE RESEARCHED & READ FROM OTHER P-O's, YOU ARE RIGHT ON TRACK. REMEMBER, YOUR LITTLE "HAPPY POUCH" IS ONLY ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR THUMB & ONE SIDE OF IT IS TRYING TO HEAL FROM BEING CUT IN HALF. YOU CAN'T EXPECT TO DRINK ALLLLLLLLLL YOUR FLUIDS, EAT ALLLLLLLLLL YOUR PROTEINS & GET ALLLLLLLLLL YOUR CALORIES IN THE BEGINNING. IT WILL TAKE YOU MONTHS & MONTHS TO GET EVERYTHING JUST RIGHT. REMEMBER, BY THE TIME YOU ARE FINISHED LOSING WEIGHT - 6 MONTHS TO OVER A YEAR - YOU STILL ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO EAT 900-1,000 CALORIES FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, SO PROGRESSING TO THAT TAKES A LONG TIME WHETHER IT BE FLUIDS, PROTEINS OR CALORIES. RELAX & ENJOY THE JOURNEY ... YOU ARE DEDICATED & FOCUSED, SO YOU CANNOT FAIL, SWEETIE ... GOD BLESS YOU, MS HEATHER DAWN & NICK
