MS TOWANA SOUNDS FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!

SHE SOUNDS 100% BETTER THAN YESTERDAY & SHE SOUNDED PRETTY GOOD THEN ... SHE IS DOING GREAT! HER VOICE SOUNDS STRONG ... ACTUALLY, IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW SHE HAD JUST HAD MAJOR SURGERY, YOU'D NEVER SUSPECT ANYTHING BY HER VOICE. ALL OF US WHO HAVE NOT HAD WLS YET ... GOOD NEWS ... IT'S NOT AS BAD AS WE MIGHT BE IMAGINING! IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, SHE SAID, "GO LAP" ... NOT TO SCARE THOSE WHO ARE HAVING "OPEN' BUT THE "LAP" IS RELATIVELY EASY. SHE SAW DR BYRNE & HE IS PLEASED WITH HER PROGRESS. SHE ONLY USED THE MED PUMP ABOUT 3 TIMES, SO SINCE SHE WASN'T NEEDING IT, THEY HAVE TAKEN IT OUT ALREADY. SHE HAS SOME PAIN, BUT IT IS NOT SEVERE. THEY TOOK THE FOLEY CATH OUT TODAY. SHE WAS HAPPY THEY LEFT IT IN YESTERDAY AS SHE REALLY DIDN'T FEEL LIKE GETTING UP TO USE THE RESTROOM. TODAY IS A DIFFERENT STORY ... SHE HAS BEEN WALKING ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH HER DAUGHTER, TAYELOR. NOW THAT SHE IS UP & WALKING, THE GAS PAINS ARE DEMINISHING NICELY. THE MORE SHE WALKS, THE BETTER SHE FEELS, SHE SAID. SHE HAD THE "SWALLOW TEST" THIS MORNING & NO LEAKS SO SHE GOT HER 1st 3 LITTLE CUPS OF JUICE. SHE'S SIPPING BUT A LITTLE BEHIND ... NO STOMACH PROBLEMS FROM THE INTRODUCTION OF FLUIDS. &, HERE'S HER "WORDS OF WISDOM" ... THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS GO INTO THIS SITUATION WITH A CALM, POSITIVE ATTITUDE. IF YOU HAVE THAT, YOU CAN DEAL WITH IT ALL & PROGRESS QUICKLY. SHE THINKS SHE WILL BE OUT OF THE HOSPITAL MONDAY ... I DON'T KNOW, AS GREAT AS SHE IS DOING, IT'D BE NICE FOR HER TO GET OUT TOMORROW, WOULDN'T IT!?! SHE SENT HER HEARTFELT APPRECIATION FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS & CONCERN FOR HER. I'm so glad to hear she's doing so well. She's absolutely right about the attitude. We couldn't be in better hands than to be with the MUSC team. Stick to their plan and be patient, because everyone is a little different. This surgery is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my family. This site and board are terrific and the LCBB are absolutely wonderfully supportive. we are so blessed to have each other.

YEAH TOWANA!!!! I loved my team at MUSC, and I am so fortunate that God led me there. I love Dr Byrne, he is so funny....once you get to know him and not take him so seriously...well the important stuff take seriously, he really does care for us. I was so happy with my recovery, it was so speedy and I have to say all the walking around is what got me outa there sooner, a whole day early.
