Just Moved to Lexington, SC!

Hi all! I recently moved to Lexington (Columbia area) from the Florida panhandle. I had my surgery on May 25, 2004. My beginning weight was 473 lbs! I am now at 261 and praying for even more weightloss! Sadly, I think I have stopped losing so now I will have to really bite the bullet and try hard to shed the remaining pounds. I have yet to find a local PCP or anything else for that matter. Can anyone from this area suggest local support groups, PCPs, or surgeons. I am at a total loss on where to go here! My Bariatric clinic in Pensacola was no help at all in finding a doc here or a support group. So I figured if I found anything it would be thru obesityhelp! Hello and welcome! There are tons of doctors in town. My WLS surgery was done through (now) Riverside Surgical... Dr Givens and Dr Strickland. I know there are a couple others here in town as well.

I had my surgery with Dr. Strickland in Lexington. He was awesome. They also have a great support group. I don't attend his support group because I'm from the Charleston area and the 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive is long. I go to a support group in Charleston. Hey Dana, I am Kelly. I too live in Lexington. As the previous posters suggested, Riverside Surgicial is awesome. I am currently still pre-op but my doctor is Dr. Strickland. The hospital is Lexington Medical Center. Dr. Strickland is listed on this web site check out his web site. They have a support group meeting every month on the first Wednesday of the month, I believe. Check out thier site and give them a call...you won't be dissappointed. --Kelly
