Hi Ladies! Do you want to walk with me for Race for the Cure?
Hi Ladies (and gentlemen)!
I was looking through the local Skirt! magazine for October, and I noticed that Charleston is having a Lowcountry Komen Charleston Race for the Cure. Its on Oct 22, at Etiwan Park at Daniel Island. The 1 mile Fun Walk starts at 9am, but they have activities starting at 8am.
For those who don't know, Komen Race for the Cure is the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation "Race for the Cure". They have these races and walks all over the country to support and raise money to find a cure for breast cancer.
This cause is important to me, because my mother has had many breast cancer scares and my maternal grandmother and aunt both died of the disease. Also, its a great way to support a cause and exercise.
If any of you want to join me or if you interested in checking it out, the website is www.komenlowcountry.org The cost to do the walk is $25.00 (that goes to the Komen Foundation) and you get an XXL T-shirt.
You can register online at the website that I provided above, or you can call 843-579-2802.
I plan on doing the walk regardless, but it sure would be nice to have some of my Lowcountry Bypass Buddies there with me to support a great cause, and get some good exercise.
If anyone wants to join me, post below or email me at [email protected]
Hugs,
Kate
