Surgery next Friday
I haven't posted here before but live in Goose Creek. I am having surgery with Dr. Byrnes, originally scheduled for 10/21. Joyce called yesterday and asked if I wanted it next week. I am having 9/30 at 9:45. I am excited, excited, excited, and scared. Any advice on what I should get for post op food, or anything.
Thanks
Mary
I wish you the bet of luck. I made sure that I had apple sauce, protein shakes, high protein pudding, SF Jello, Crystal Light, soups. Make sure you have all your vitamins, muti-vitamin, calcium (The Vitamin Shoppe has Calcium Citrate wafers. they are like candy), B-12 (sublinqual GNC), and ofcourse more protein.
Good Luck if you need anything call me 532-4602.
Britt
WELCOME & CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW 9/30 DATE. MINE IS 10/28 & I WILL HAVE BYRNES AS WELL.
IT SEEMS MOST POST-OPS EAT THINGS LIKE PROTEIN SHAKES, DRINKS & PUDDINGS ... SOUP, GRITS, OATMEAL, APPPLESAUCE & YOGURT ... SUGAR-FREE POPCICLES ... WATER & SUGAR-FREE, NON-CARBONATED DRINKS ... THINGS LIKE THAT. REMEMBER, NOTHING THAT HAS MORE TEXTURE THAN APPLESAUCE; EVERYTHING ELSE MUST BE PUREED FOR 4 WEEKS.
YOU CAN FIND ALL SORTS OF STUFF AT PLACES LIKE WAL*MART & GNC, BUT BE SURE TO CHECK THE INGREDIENTS CAREFULLY! THERE IS A WONDERFUL WEBSITE JUST FOR WLS PATIENTS RUN BY A LADY WHO HAS HAD WL SURGERY ... CHECK IT OUT ...

ANY CUTE NAME WILL DO, BUT I THINK WE NEED A NAME, DON'T YOU? ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR OUR THURSDAY NIGHT WLS SUPPORT GROUP?
WE HAVE ...
1) THE FAT WHACKERS (like, whacking the fat off our bodies)
2) THE LOWCOUNTRY LOSERS
3) NICK'S ANGELS (a take-off of Charlie's Angels ... since Nick is the only man & he just adores all the ladies in our group!)
COME ON LADIES & GENTS ... PUT ON YOUR THINKING CAPS!
GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK
CONGRATS ON YOUR SURGERY DATE MAY. I LIVE IN GOOSE CREEK TOO. THERE IS ANOTHER LADY NAMED WENDY FOWLER WHO LIVES IN THE CREEK. SHE HAD SURGERY IN MID-JULY AND IS DOING GREAT. I WAS SCHEDULED FOR 10/7 WITH DR. BYRNE BUT HAVEN'T GOTTEN INSURANCE APPROVAL, SO JOYCE TOOK ME OFF OF THE SCHEDULE. TENTATIVE DATE IS 10/13, BUT NOT SURE YET BECAUSE OF INSURANCE WOES. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED, BUT TRYING TO BE PATIENT!
COME TO OUR THURSDAY NIGHT GET TOGETHER WHEN YOU CAN. WE LOVE TO HAVE NEW PEOPLE.
AS FOR OUR NAME GIRLS, DAWN, WE VOTED LAST NIGHT (YOU SHOULDA BEEN THERE-NEW PEOPLE, LOTS OF FUN, ETC.). WE DON'T WANT TO BE FAT WHACKERS. LOW COUNTRY LOSERS SOUNDS GOOD. WE THOUGHT MAYBE EVERYONE COULD COME WITH THEIR SUGGESTIONS NEXT THURSDAY AND WE CAN VOTE.

DAWN, I THINK INSURANCE JUST WANTS TO MESS WITH ME FOR AWHILE. TODAY THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT A "PEER TO PEER" - WHATEVER THAT MEANS. I AM A FIGHTER AND PLAN TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT ALL THE WAY - AND PRAY A LOT ALONG THE WAY.
FUNNY, MY MOM PASSED AWAY IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. SHE ALWAYS HAD ISSUES WITH WEIGHT AND I KEEP TALKING TO HER TELLING HER TO PUT IN A GOOD WORD....I KNOW THIS WILL HAPPEN, IT IS JUST GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE LONGER THAN I THOUGHT.
I RAMBLE....SURGERY TOGETHER WOULD BE FUN - BUT I HOPE I WON'T HAVE TO WAIT THAT LONG......SEE YOU NEXT THURSDAY!!!
