2 month progress pictures.
Wow!!! you look great!! I am glad that you have finally regained your energy, just a bit concerned about your food problem. What in the world does dr.rowitz say about it? that scares me, considering i am planning my surgery with him. what type of foods are you allowed to eat now? how was your hospital stay? are you able to keep your fluids down? Was it worth it so far, you sure do look wonderfulll!! fill me in, I'm scared about the surgery. I will keep you in thoughts and prays, butter
Hi Butter,
Dr. Rowitz hasn't said anything about it since we don't usually get to see him. Marylee told me that he doesn't see us until we are a year out. I might get a chance to see him tomorrow when I go but it's only since I insisted to get in there asap. Let me tell you the after care to myself and my friend (that had it done at the same time with me)Alison W. we think the after care stinks! She was so sick one night she called and they had Dr. Cook on call and he hung up on her and told her to go to the ER if she was that bad. Marylee is the nicest one there to be honest. However I do believe Dr. Rowitz is very capable of doing a great job as far as surgery goes so don't worry there. I'm allowed to eat pretty much anything, except raw vegs, lettuce etc. You watch the fats and no sugar. I can keep fluids down most of the time. Yesterday I took my prescription Protonix that I used to use for acid reflux because I've been reading about the mucus stuff that I'm throwing up and how the meds helps to break the mucus down etc. Anyway, I won't know for sure for a few more meals but last night I was able to eat a 1/2 sirloin pattie and some pork n beans for dinner. I felt so normal, no pain, now throwing up afterwards. I hope I feel the same today. I'll have to get back to you on that. The hospital stay was ok. It's a very old place and it looks dirty to me. I love Greenville Mem. so maybe thats why I didn't care for it. When are you having your surgery? Another friend of mine is having it in Oct. maybe you should come to my board and talk to her. I had a friend go through it with me and it made the whole thing so much better. We are best friends now. We have such a great bond. We checked in the night before together and we even went out and had our last dinner together before we rode together to the hospital. You will have to register for a screen name like here but it's free, plus it's cool to know people your talking to. We'll be from the same area and can get together too. I hope you'll join our group. ~Dawn
PS I'm too lazy to proof read this so forgive any mistakes ok? lol
I think that sounds fine. Why don't we think about doing the first one in the middle...like Greenville and then at the end of the meeting we can decide on where we can meet the next time. (Piedmont, Anderson ect.)
Did you plan on this being totally informal or were you intersted in making this an OH chapter. I had been thinking about getting my certification and of course several people could and take turns "leading" a meeting.
Of course that may not be what you had in mind. I am interested in any format.
Hey ya'll! Keep me in the loop. I live in Boiling Springs and work in Greenville. But I think support is key, especially early on. And since I am just getting started on this journey, I can use all the help that I can get. All I need is a couple of weeks to work out my schedule (make sure that I'm not out of town), and I'll be there!!

You got it Diane, it'll be fun I think. My email is [email protected]
Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's really amazing how they convince us that we are going to have this lifelong comment friendship with these doctors and then Poof , wont see ya for a year. that's CRAZY!! But, realistically how could they? I am glad to hear your confidence in Dr. Rowitz, he seemed super and I have heard so many great things about him. After all he is one of the most qualified surgeons in the area. I too, don't exactly LOVE Anderson hospital and would rather go to Greenville any day. But, just gotta keep the faith, right? I hope you are able to see him, and everything is OKAY with you. I would be happy to join your group, I will try to sign up tonight, if I cant figure it out I will email you. My surgery is on hold for now due to thyroid levels, well actually now my thyroid is within normal range after only two months of meds, which is amazing, but just found out I was a diabetic. So, my endo won't clear me for surgery yet until that is under control, I don't have another app. with her until the 1st of November. Which is really better considering my husband is in Afghanistan right now, but will be back in October. I really wanted to have it done before he got home but, now that I have had time to think about all this, I really will be much more comfortable with him home with me. Talk to you soon, Butter
