hi there- new here
hi there. i have been using this site as a wealth of info but don't think i've stumbled onto the sc board just yet ****il now).
I have an appt this tue with surgeon, dr. *****ett. I have already attended the 2 hour seminar which they do ( very informative) and i'm 100% psyched for this surgery. Hopefully gastric bypass rny lap is what i will have.
I'm 30, have a 7 mth old little girl and my DH is deployed and is in iraq for another 10 mths or so.
Hi Heather! Welcome from Me
Good luck with your upcoming surgery. Am using Dr. Strickland in Columbia for mine, waiting for insurance approval.
This message board isn't too active, but I always pop in to see if anything is going on. Will you have someone to help you when you have your surgery? A 7-month old? I remember those days, my youngest is 19 now! Time flies.

Dr Morgan is a wonderful person and excellent surgeon, you are in great hands. Dr Brynes as well, although he was not my surgeon he has filled in for Morgan a time or two on my check ups. I will be 9 mnths post-op on August 8th, which is also my birthday..kinda kewl. The nurses and office staff and nutritionist(s) are a great team. Definitley attend the support group meetings if you can, every 3rd Thursday of the month from 6-7pm at the IOP Weight Management Center on the 4th floor.
Good Luck

hi all!
Actually, my husband just left in june..so we have over 10 months before he is home home..but hopefully we'll see him near december for R and R.
I was considering doing the surgery in Germany while he was deployed, and depending upon friends, etc. to help me, but i really once we decided i was gonna come back to the states while he is gone, realized i felt more comfortable having my mom here to help me ( of course a second choce to my dear hubby who i wish could be here.>)
But I am excited too in a way of the possibiliies of being a big LOSER when i see him again.
Welcome Heather!
Nothing like a mother's love to help you heal! Glad that you have the help available.
I had my surgery on 02/28/05 and couldn't be happier.
I have lost 93lbs and 4 dress sizes. Maybe all we Carolina girls (and guys) make a habit of checking this board each day it will get more active. I for one pledge to do so!
Congratulations on the decision to take this journey and feel free to e-mail me and ask any questions you like.

isn't shopping a whole new world?
YUP! Shopping is wonderful and when I get to 140 it will be great!
I used to hate buying clothes. It was such a hassle and if it fit it looked like someone's grandmother should be wearing it. I am only 38 ****il Monday anyway) and am so happy to feel and look young again. The middle number is current weight. But I am not far from my goal!
There are pics on my profile. I need to get some better ones.
Wish me luck...I start at Curves tonight! I have been very neglectful of my exercise and need to start toning. Maybe I won't need so much in plastics if I can stick to a workout.
I'll let ya'll know tomorrow...if I can move enough to type!
