I am 9 days post op. Did anyone have a problem with eating the right amounts of food. The sample diet I have from the doctor is Breakfast: 1 oz pureed fruit, 1 oz thing oatmeal Snack: 1 cup milk, 1 - 2 cups sugar free beverage Lunch: 1 oz pureed fruit, 1 oz thin mashed potatoes Snack: 1 cup milk, 1 cup broth, 1 cup diet jello Dinner: 1 oz pureed fruit, 1 oz thin cream of wheat Snack: 1 cup milk 1 - 2 cups sugar free beverage. I ate 1 oz of fruit and was full. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Wendy Fowler

Hi Wendy, I am 8 days post op.At first I was scared what to eat,but I think it all just comes to you.I would say if your full thats good.I have days like that to .Like for dinner I would eat maybe some soup just a few bites and would be so full, but for lunch I can eat sometimes more. Its weird .Also last night I had a Jello pudding snack sugar free and Ive been eating this regular since the surgery but for the first time I finished the whole thing.I was surprise and in shock. So I would say some days are different. Good Luck......

It will vary day to day the important thing is to stay hydrated the first two week I lived on popsciles plus everything goes down differently such as jello turns to water applesauce has less consistancy as oatmeal. Some days you can handle more however take small bites chew well and eat real slow. Be careful to follow the no liquid 30 prior to a meal and 30 mins after.
