Hi ,my name is Maryann, just had my surgery last week,so Im 6 days into this whole process. But my problem is before I could drink water all the time now it hurts when I drink. Is this normal? Yes Im sipping but I dont know just seems like Im not getting enough fluids .Maybe I am not sure.So for the mean time I ve been drinking Crstal Light and eating fruit juice bars.Is this ok.

Hi Maryann I don't have any answers for you because I am a pre-op. I hope to have surgery in November, 2005 with Dr, Byrne. My advice would be to get in as much liquids as possible. I remember from the nutrition class that they said in the first couple of weeks that was the most important thing. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. If you feel like it sometime in the near future, I'd love to talk to you about your experience. Did you have lap or open? I am so excited about this surgery I can't stand myself! I've had two dates scheduled and then the insurance company started their baloney. I have a friend, Lori, who lives in Summerville, too. She's getting ready to submit her case to get approval. We're trying to round up as many post-op and pre-op's in the Summerville/Goose Creek areas as we can find to have our own little "group." Would you be interested in joining us? You can call me at work at 747-6461 or on my mobile at 991-0473. I look forward to talking with you.
