nutrition class

The class yesterday was great. Not only was it on nutrition, the nurse was there discussing the surgery, what to expect in the hospital and all pre-cautions they take. They gave us a 3 ring binder full of information. I also found out that my husband can stay the night with me. The rooms are private. They have a cot. Also, they give you a lot of stuff. They will give you an Angel pillow to cough with. The nurse designed it herself and it has a pen attached for people to sign. I'm really getting excited. I have pre op testing on Monday, 6/20 and then a filter put in on 6/23. Then the surgery on 7/6. The days are flying fast. Thanks for all the help. Wendy

Hey Wendy,Im glad to hear things are moving right along for you.Once they put your filter in everything goes real fast...lol.Lynn Edwards is awesome,she is a sweetheart and so so down to earht,its hard to look at her an imagine where she has come from.I am sure she shared her story with you at the class.The angel pillow is great,make sure you get anyone and everyone to sign it for you..I look back at mine and it makes me smile.If there anything I can do just let me know ok.I know you wont have many ppl here with you and I am hoping to come to see you(there is a chance I will be in KY at that time)its still up in the air. You are awesome Renee. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm glad that Lynn said that someone can stay over night with you. My husband will be staying the first night. We live about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. My sister will be watching my kids for me. It is coming so quickly. I'm getting all my stuff together. I got protein shakes today. I have a list of things to get. Again thanks for the prayers. Hey Wendy I'll be at the hospital the day of your surgery!!! Am attending the support group that wednesday night. What a coincidence.....keep on being excited...I know I am and I am not even close to a surgery date..can't imagine how you feel!! Talk soon, Love Lori

Wendy, The informational seminar was GREAT! I was impressed. Tonight I went to the support group at MUSC. July 7th I go to the informational seminar at MUSC. I can't wait!!! After that meeting, I shall choose my doctor. I shall be there Saturday as well, see you then! Lori
