Moving to Columbia

Hey everyone! I will be moving to the Columbia area in July and was wondering what information y'all could give me. Are there any support groups in the area for WLS? I have so many questions, but don't know where to start asking. I am just soooo excited. I visited there last week and LOVED the area. Susan }i{

Hi Susan There is a support group in Columbia at the office building next to Lexington Medical Center. You can call Riverside Surgical Group at 803 791 2828 to see when they meet. I went there once. It is run by Dr. Strickland and Dr. Givens. I am having surgery on 7/6/05 by these Drs. but go to a support group closer to my home near Charleston. These Drs. are great. I travel 2 hours one way just to see them. Hope this helps. Wendy Fowler

Hey, Susan!

There is a support group at Lexington Medical Center on the first Wednesday of each month at (I believe) 6 p.m. Hope this helps!! Dr. Glen Strickland and Dr. James Givens are the surgeons and Lynn (I forget her last name) is the head of the program. Good luck in your move!!! Hugs, Connie
