Dr. Strickland performed my surgery March 2004, at the time I think they Strickland and Givens had maybe 3 deaths after performing the surgery for many years...they both do the surgery together. He will tell you himself. There success rate is higher than the average. If you go to the informational meeting you can ask questions and they will honestly answer you. They are rated one of the best doctors in the nation. My family doctor told me of an article he had read on them and how highly they were rated. There is an other group in columbia.....do not go to them.
You could also call the office and leave a voice mail for his nurse Mindy and she will return your call and give you the info you want.
Good luck
Sandy
Hello Lori,Dr.Strickland and Givens did my surgery(well Dr.Givens assited)I had my WLS 3/8/05 and it was Lap.I really dont want to qout how many deaths they have had but I do know that is less than 1%.We have seminars the first Monday of every month and we have our support group meetings the first Wednsday of the month. It would be great if you could attend either of those,we always have pre-op ppl there and we make the rounds helping with any ?'s and telling our own stories.Everyine there is really nice,so hope you can join us soon.If you would like someone to go with give me a holler..Renee Columbia,SC

Hello Lori... You can do a search on the doctor and you can find out some information on them.. The best thing to do is go to their seminar and ask questions... I went to his seminar and also the other doctors in Columbia which is Dr. Tribble and Dr. *****ett...They are wonderful doctors and when they did my surgery a year and hal*****hey had done hundereds of surgery had not lost any one from this surgery...It is good to go to different seminars and meet different doctors and then decide which one you feel better with...Brenda....
