OK, Just one more question. lol
I went to Dr. Bour's here in Greenville, SC and he said everyone has to pay $2750 administration fee before we can do anything. My insurance. pays 100% so to have to pay an administration fee this high upsets me. I can't afford that so I'm looking into other surgeons. I'm going to call dr. Rowitz office Mon. I understand I will have some co-pays and that's fine. Any information you can give me is much appreciated. Dawn
I was seeing Dr. Sabback but Trident stopped it's surgeries. I can't see Dr. Byrne because he isn't on my insurance. Also MUSC isn't on my insurance plan either.
Although the trip is long, it's an easy drive. Right up 26 to exit 110 and Dr. Strickland's office is right off the exit. I am very pleased with him.

Thanks Wendy for your responce. That's just a little bit to far for me. I would go there if I didn't have other options here in town. By the way I know where Goose Creek is, my husband lived there for a very short time while in the Navy. I graduated from Summerville High and we were big rivals with Goose Creek High.
The reason Dr. Bour's cost is so high is because he will provide you with nutritionists and a psychologist for life. He has meetings each week that everyone should go to. This doctor does not perform the surgery and then just let you go. He has formed his practice around the idea that we need all of these things to remain successful. Remember, the surgery is just a tool. Whatever psychological problems we had with dealing with life before the surgery, we will have well after the surgery if we don't work on more than just the eating. I recommend Dr. Bour's way of doing things. Yes, it is more money than some, but in the long run it will be worth it - both physically and mentally. I am 4 1/2 months post op from gastic bypass. I have lost 90 lbs. I really believe in this approach.
Good luck
Terri
